With its resting place between heaven and earth the Bosom was affected by both of them. The moon caused the ebbing and flowing of the water that brought life giving water into their homes and took away the waste to be swooped into the caverns below. The caverns below, nothing was as exciting to a 10 year old boy in the Bosom as the caverns below. He and his friend Melcho decided to look and see where the waters went when they flowed down into the caverns. They had to be careful though because if they went too far they would be trapped by the water coming in on the flow tide. The Walls were covered in the slime of past waste, freshened by the water and the minerals from the rocks. They side stepped anything they didn't like to walk in until they got to a very large hollow in the rocks. Having a single solitary candle for light they went as far as they could before they again hit the water line.
Melcho missed her footing and dropped the candle in the water. They were both upset because now it was too dark. Kendra got her to hold his hand and they tried to forge their way back to where they had come from. The water started to rise rapidly.
