Concentrating slightly he saw the problem in the spiritual realm. A demon was directing the giant and had warned him of the danger. "I should have brought Chralane first," he rued.
Chelnuk, knowing his fathers gifts asked him, "What do you see?"
"A demon warning the giant."
"What can we do about it?" asked Nimen.
"We can pray, but our prayers are not as strong as the priests." After a moment of thought he said, "You two pray, I shall get Chralane." He vanished.
Nimen and Chelnuk looked at each other then began to pray.
A few seconds later a startled Chralane appeared with Kendra. "I wish you had explained what you were going to do a little better," said the priest as he spat out a piece of apple, "I feel quite ill now."
"You will have to forgive me later, now pray against that evil spirit."
Chralane began to pray to the Lord God Almighty. Kendra could see that the demon itself became confused and oppressed by the glory of God that began to descend over the area.
The giant stood there and then threw his spear at Joreld. It missed and so Baragar drew his sword and carefully picked his way towards the man.
