Silence and Tears

Alex woke up at 6:15 that morning and quickly switched off his alarm. He grabbed a towel and some clothes before making his way to the shower at the end of the dorm. Once he had showered Alex got himself ready for the day and picked up another one of his hoodies that perrie could change into. He walked down to the patients closet and took a pair of leggings, a bra, some panties, and a pair of socks from perries drawer. He then picked up another towel hoping he could get perrie to have a shower since he knew she hadn't had one for a while.

Alex took the same route as yesterday to get to perries room, when he got there it was just as quiet as he expected it to be. He knocked on the door before walking inside the room and closing it behind him, "morning Perrie, sleep well?" Alex asked, he knew she hadn't but he didn't know how else to greet her. To Alex's surprise perrie was sat in one of the chairs at the small table in her room, she looked up at alex but quickly looked back to her finger which she was using to draw shapes on the table. "So you enjoy drawing?" Alex asked quietly as he took a seat opposite perrie. She cast her eyes up towards Alex and nodded her head a little, alex smiled and allowed perrie to return to her hobby.

He sat for a few minutes watching perrie trace little patterns onto the surface of the table, "do you think you'd be able to take a quick shower perrie?" Alex asked cautiously, perrie stopped what she was doing and looked down to the floor. "I can stay in this room whilst you go and shower in there if you'd like" alex suggested pointing towards the small bathroom. Perrie slowly stood up, she took the towel and clothes from the bed where Alex had placed them and walked through to the bathroom. Perrie stepped into the shower and immediately relaxed at the feel of the warm water.

She was only in there for about 10 minutes before she got out and put the clothes on that Alex had brought her. She made her way back into the other room and sat down on the bed picking up her hairbrush as she did. "Well done Perrie, do you feel any better now?" Alex asked, he received a small glance from perrie but no reply. She lifted the hairbrush and began to brush out the tangles in her hair. Alex could see that she was struggling as her hands were constantly shaking, he moved off the chair and sat next to perrie on the bed, "want me to help?" Alex asked. Perrie was hesitant but eventually nodded and passed the hairbrush to Alex. Perrie slid herself off the bed and slowly sat on the floor in front of alex, she brought her knees up towards her chest and pushed her hair behind her shoulders. Alex gently began brushing perries hair being very careful not to hurt her, after all he wanted to gain her trust not lose it. He took each bit of hair in his hand as he brushed it to try and prevent her hair being tugged at. "I'm just going to grab a hairdryer so you don't end up with a cold" alex smiled softly at perrie. He was back watching just a few minutes as there was a store cupboard not far away.

Alex plugged the hairdryer in at the wall socket and returned to his seat behind perrie. He held the brush in one hand and the dryer in the other as he gently brushed through her hair to help dry it quicker. It took Alex about 15 minutes to dry her hair fully, he brushed it once more before turning the hairdryer off and unplugging it. "All done perrie" he said quietly. Perrie stood up slowly and it was obvious that even getting up off the floor was a struggle for her at the moment. She walked back to the chair she'd been sat on earlier and returned to the same position. "Perrie, would you like something to draw with?" Alex asked as he stood up from the bed, perrie glanced up at him but gave no reply. Alex could tell from the look she gave that she wanted to say yes but couldn't bring herself to. "Right then, I'll be back in about 5 minutes with your breakfast" alex smiled before walking out of perries room.

Alex walked off to the staff common room in hope of finding Georgie and Jade. As he got there he poked his head inside the door and scanned the room for them, realising that neither of the girls were in there he quickly turned around and began waking down the corridor to one of the store cupboards. Once Alex made it to the store room he opened the door and walked to the back, luckily he managed to find a couple of pencils, a rubber and also a sketchbook that appeared to be completely empty, alex grabbed these items and shut the door behind him in the way out. He then made his way to catering and showed the card to allow him to collect food for perrie, the canteen staff passed him a tray over which had a bowl of cereal and a piece of toast along with a glass of water placed on top of it. Alex held the tray in one hand and the drawing things in the other carefully making his way back to perries room.
