Life gets in the way. Whether you're in school, have a job, or have a family, other priorities will demand your time and energy. The key to writing your novel is to determine where that fits into your life's priorities and then treat it accordingly. Is writing a novel more important than spending time on social media or gaming? Then, make sure you achieve your Little Ups before you go onto Instagram, Snapchat, or Reddit.
You may find it helpful to schedule time to write, just like you would a doctor appointment or a lunch date. By setting aside a block of time on your calendar—and holding yourself to it—you will make progress. If you schedule and write ten minutes every morning, that's over an hour's worth of writing every week. Make each ten-minute sprint a Little Up, and you start the day with a big positive.
