Chapter XXXIV

Gary

Being unconscious for an extended period of time is a very strange sensation. While you're under, each moment feels like an eternity, yet the second you wake up, you feel as though no time has passed at all.

Or perhaps that's just my retarded brain playing tricks on me. Considering how many evil masterminds have been in there over the last couple of weeks, that's an extremely viable possibility.

Shit, I'm Eric freaking Selvig.

No wonder that guy went nuts...

As I'm sure you people have figured out by now, I woke up. Yay! My eyes shot open and I took in a deep breath as though I hadn't breathed for days (for all I know, I may not have).

When my eyes had adjusted to the sudden light, I found myself in the middle of a war in what I finally realized was Ladshow Park. Yeah, everything looked the same. Except the fact that the usual kids chasing each other with baseball bats and soccer balls were replaced by crazy, full grown people chasing each other with swords and other sharp weapons. Oh, and guns too.

Quite the improvement, in my opinion.

When I finally tried to move, I found myself strapped to a board. The bands holding me in place were all but bulletproof, so there was no way I was breaking out of those any time soon. My analysis was that I was on display for all the angry fighting people below. At least I still had clothing on...

Lovely.

When I looked to my left, I saw that Ellen Etchelle was strapped to the board as well, although she was completely still, barely breathing, her eyes glowing a dark, sickly yellow.

"We've got two more people to get rid of before she wakes up."

I whipped my head around and stared, "Ali?"

She smirked, "Hey asshole. Looks like you could use some help."

I had barely recognized her when I first saw her. Her hair had changed to a sort of multicolored pattern; black at the roots, then brown, red, orange, and finally an electric blonde at the tips. Her eyes were now an extremely strange color; a mix between gold and purple. Her skin tone seemed to change automatically, with one side seeming darker than the other yet they appeared to be the same shade. If that makes any sense.

As she pulled a dagger off her belt and began sawing at my restraints, I continued to stare, "What the hell happened to you?"

She laughed at my question, "This is the kind of crap that happens when you earn the power of a metamorphagus. I'm just happy I'll be able to make it look normal before I get home."

I stuttered, "Wha- Bu- What is-"

She rolled her eyes, "I don't even know how this shit works, and I've been conscious the whole time. Trust me, Maddie'll be able to explain once all the bad guys are dead."

I nearly passed out at that point, "Maddie? But the creepy woman said she killed her..."

"Creepy woman? Ohhh, you mean Bellatrix. Fair description. Yeah, she did. Twice."

I frowned, "But you just said-"

"She's very bad at it. Like I said," She interrupted. "Later. You can move now."

I stepped away from the board, rubbing my wrist gingerly, "Thanks."

"That be my job." She said nonchalantly. She handed me a bloody, curved sword that I recognized to be a scythe, "Have you ever used one of these?"

I raised an eyebrow, "No, but something tells me that's not gonna be a problem."

She pulled a knife off of her belt and shrugged, "Something tells me you're right."

Hey. I'm tired.

So I got up at five am to go on a field trip for ROTC. 3 issues:

1) We didn't leave until 6:30 😐

2) Only five people showed 😕

3) I'm the only girl 😒

Yeah.

Vote comment, all that stuff. To tired to use google translate properly.

Bye.
