~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Stalactite held on tight deftly clinging
Stalagmite stood with might softly springing.
Opponents with swords drawn they faced each other
Neither one has shield or cover
In this tenebrous battlefield
A standoff ensues when neither will yield
Millennia hath passed and hatred grown
Both wished that they could be alone
Than face the one that they despised
Mineral tears poured from their eyes
'I will release' said she from the ceiling
'I will crash down and leave you reeling!'
'What thou do to me shall be done to you'
Said he 'I will break but you will too!
So this should come as no surprise
That this is not a compromise'
Millennia then passed once more
And stalagmite reached from the floor
Stalactite stretched from above
Their fingers touched and they felt love
'I am like you.' said he
'And you like me.' said she
After all those years of condemnation
They forged a pillar of foundation
