I was shocked, the bodyguard sounded skilled.

The quiet officer snickered, "Aye, Paul, the bodyguard sounds a lot like Boss's kid" he nudged the other officer.

The other officer nodded.

"Well whoever it is, they sound better than the others that have worked for me. When can we meet up with them?" I asked Jeff, my nerves calming down just a bit.

"Tomorrow, first thing in the morning" Jeff said.

"Alright then that settles it, we will have a few officers on patrol until tomorrow morning" The officers stood up, and shook our hands.

"I thank you very much for what you  are doing for me" I said to them.

"Its our jobs" one of them said.

The two of them left, and as soon as they did, my nerves returned.

"It's okay, Thomas. With the new bodyguard, you are certainly going to be safe" Jeff reassured me.

I nodded but I was still anxious.

I mean, my life is being threatened every day, I fear they will begin to threaten my parents, or other loved ones. I fear not being able to be around them if this maniac actually does get to me.

I stood up from my dinning table them began to walk to my living room when my phone dinged.

It was a message from an unknown number.

Although the number was unknown I knew who it was.

It was the maniac threatening me.

They always messaged me through an unknown number.

I dared not to look at the more likely than not gruesome message but I did it anyways.

Tonight, you are safe only because of those f×××ing cops outside your home.

My stomach sank more than it already had.

Relax Tom, this is just going to be for one more night. You'll be in good hands from tomorrow morning and forward.

I just hoped my positive thoughts were correct.

Colin's POV

The semi in my hand was gripped tightly as I aimed for the moving target.

I was going to shoot when the over speaker turned on causing me to jolt and shoot at another target.

I huffed in annoyance.

"Colin, honey, in my office"

"of course it was dad" I muttered as I put the safety back on my gun then shoved it back into my thigh holster.

I ripped out the elastic from my hair, letting my black to gray ombre hair fall down over my shoulders.

Why does a cop have crazy weird hair? Cause I can.

I made my way out of the shooting range area then began to head into our actual station, then made my way to my father's office.

"What's up dad?" I asked, walking in.

"Colin, I have a job for you" my dad said to me.

"Is it finally an actual assignment?" I crossed my arms.

"Yes, honey, it's your time" he smiled again.

I grinned then sat down.

"I want you to be a bodyguard.. For a celebrity" he said to me hoping for me to squeal. He instead got a different reaction from me.

"You want me to babysit?!" I practically shouted.

"Oh, no, pumpkin this is an actual assignment, no one can do this better than you" my dad said, disappointed with my reaction.

"Dad. No. You have been training me for years to be an actual cop, not a 25 year old baby sitter" I stood up from my chair then began to head for the door.

"This man's life is being threatened, everyday, Colin" he said which made me stop in my tracks.

"They are a celebrity dad, they are bound to get threatened" I turned around to him.

"No, Colin. We all thought this was a joke too, but look" he said pulling out a file for me.

I nudged over back to the desk, my dad opened the file and out came out tons of pictures.

Of notes, letters, and pictures taken from the person's phone.

"Holy Hell" I muttered then picked up a picture that made me yelp.

It was a picture of a dead body, with it's eyes and mouth crossed out.

"Honey, its fake, it's all wax, this psycho is only trying to scare this person" my dad said.

"How do you know?" I asked.

"Look at the face very closely" he said picking up the picture again.

And once I did, I saw what he meant, it looked like those dummies we used here for training.

I sighed in relief.

"This person fears their life, and their family.. And there is a sick bastard out there that needs to be stopped, you've trained for a decade for this honey, what do you say?" My dad asked me.

I sighed again, "For how long?" I asked my father.

"To find a smart ass like that sick person, a while, the contract you'll be signing is for three years, pumpkin." My Dad answered me, he winced a little awaiting an outburst.

"Fine, but only because I know I will be paid good and because there is a sicko out there that needs to be put behind bars" I said to my dad.

"Oh, honey, you're going to make your old Man cry, I'm so proud" my father chuckled slightly.

I rolled my eyes playfully then went to go hug him.

"I love you, Honey" my dad kissed my cheek.

"I know" I muttered to him with a small chuckle.

I felt kind of bad for this famous person, they must be afraid of losing their family more than their own life.

That's why my dad used that against me.

Family is the most important thing to the both of us.

Which is another reason I agreed to this job.

And I want my father to be proud of me.

As well as my mother, my mother is currently out of country doing a job, but I fear her life every day.

Dad had to hire a few bodyguards just to make sure she will be okay.

I fear the worst when she is away. I can only imagine this poor person's family.

"I love ya too dad"
