Chapter 14 - new friends

Well, I'm back at school.

And I'm basically famous.

"So Philly, how does it feel to be back at school after you saved someone?", Peej's words echoed through my mind.

"Can we.. not?"

"Sorry, sensitive topic."

"It's okay, let's just go to class."

And we did.

And again.

And again.

But every class was a blur.

"Hey there Philly, how was weeks of work?"

"My backpack is heavy, I might just jump off the rosewood bridge."

"Don't say that..", Peej began laughing.

Earrings.

"Ha yeah, sorry.", this pain.

"Well what are you doing now?! It's after a long day at school! You gonna fool around?"

"No."

"What?"

"I'm going to go to the forest, catch you later?", Peej gave me a small, sad smile.

"Yeah, of course."

We walked different directions.

I was alone again.

I couldn't help but feel alone.

Then I saw it.

A boy with walk into the woods.

"Dan!?", I ran after him, crying. Dodging trees, twigs, bushes.

Until I caught up.

"Dan!", he turned around.

"I'm sorry, I don't think I'm who you're looking for..", it wasn't him.

"Sorry!"

"It's okay, I'm Anthony! Do you need help finding your friend?"

"N-no but thanks."

Anthony smiled.

"Hey wait! You're that guy on the news!"

"Yup.. that's me."

"Right on dude!", he seemed, nice.

"I'm going to go, nice to meet you though."

"Phil right?"

I turned around, making eye contact.

"Yes."

"We'll take again right?"

"Sure."

...

I was sitting against a tree for god knows how long and I guess I fell asleep.

I woke up to the breeze of the cold wind hitting my exposing skin.

It was going to rain.

I knew because even though I couldn't see the sky I could smell it, the air around me that is.

Something I'll never get over.

"Phil."

The trees blew above me in a violent manner, like they couldn't take the wind abusing its power.

"Phil?"

The rain fell on my face when it finally made it through the thick amount of leaves on the tree above me.

"Phil!", I glanced over at the figure who was my friend, Jasper.

I say friend but I don't mean it.

He's just someone who talks to me.

"Hi."

"Hi? That's all I get? Dude! You're soaked!", I looked down at my white shirt with the tiny houseplant.

It was indeed soaked.

But I didn't care at the moment.

"What are you doing here Jasper?"

"Well I saw a tall kid walk in here with brown hair and I thought it was Anthony, can't find either of them now though."

"Excuse me?"

"Anthony?"

"What was the guy wearing?"

Jasper paused.

"A black and grey shirt... black ripped jeans and uh- white shoes?"

Could it be?

"Anthony looked nothing like that description."

"You seen him?!"

"Yes, he's a mile that way", I pointed and watched as he ran awake while waving.

"PHILLY I FOUND YOU! I HAVE GREAT NEWS!", Peej ran towards me with his arms flailing in the air.

How are they finding me?

I'm extremely deep in the forest.

"Hey Peej, it's been like a couple hours."

"Guess fucking what?!"

"What Peej?"

"My bestfriend is coming down here! He's gonna stay with me for a long while!"

"What about school for him?"

"Online."

"Cool, Wait! By the way the weirdest thing happened..."

"What?"

"I think Jasper from our fifth period saw Dan.", I watched as Peej's expression changed.

"Do you think he actually did?"

"No clue."

"Well we could inves-", Peej stopped mid sentence and smiled crazily.

"Peej?"

"He's here."
