Trees gently swayed in the distant breeze of the wind, as several men carried a sleek black coffin The pitter patter of the rain matched the mood of the gathering perfectly, and Carlisle, Emmett, Jasper and Edward Cullen set the coffin of their dear Bridie Cullen in it's designated spot. She was human when she died -somehow- and she would be given a human burial, not the vial and cold burning of a vampires 'funeral'. Bella sat with her friends: Mike Newton, Jessica Stanley, Angela Weber and Eric Yorkie. Charlie Swan sat with his daughter, the row of humans never for one second distracting the vampires around them but just to be safe, Edward sat on the opposite side of Bella, her father slightly annoyed at this.

It was a small gathering of vampires and humans, the Cullen's, the small group of humans, Eleazar and his coven had come all the way from Alaska just to pay their respects. Charlotte and Peter- friends of Jaspers had also come to pay their respects to the little vampire who made them laugh on several occasions.

Carlisle had to get up and speak first, he had always dreaded this day. Deep down Carlisle had known that this day would come eventually- he didn't know when but Bridie was the kind of vampire to cause trouble among passing nomads and she had done it once before...well several times.

Next was Esme, her voice was cracking all through her speech and for the first time in a long time Esme felt a hollow place in her heart- as cheesy as it sounds, Bridie filled that hole just like all of her children have a special place in her heart. Rosalie then Alice were next, having a small speech prepared but it was Edwards that the Cullens were waiting for. Alice had seen his speech and felt that it would be very moving towards everyone.

"Bridie was the youngest of our family,"
'Bridie looked like the youngest of our family,' Edward started, looking down at his piece of paper then down to the coffin that Bridie lay in. "But somehow she acted like the mature one out of us excluding Esme and Carlisle of course." Everyone laughed and Edward let out a small smile. "When I joined the family, Bridie was already there, but she was different compared to the Bridie that you all knew. She was cold and distant, but I didn't mind- I tried to get to know her and once I did, thats when I saw her true colours, she was quite a kind and patient girl, she was fiercely loyal to the ones she loved and I'll miss her for the rest of my life. I feel extremely guilty for the way I've treated her over the years– I've called her things I shouldn't have and I've completely misunderstood her as much as one can but if I could see her just one more time I would tell my beautiful little sister how much I love her and care for her and I never wanted any harm to come to her." Edward finished with Esme embracing him in a soft hug which he gave back as well.
