"Alright guys lets roll out and get this job done" I said

"Alright lets go and remember we have each others back nobody gets left behind." said Nick

"Agreed if anything happens we have to alert each other and if we come across enemy fire do all you can to get yourself and others out of there." I said

"Okay now let's go before we get you in trouble"said Zac

"Let's go get the job done." said Riley

We all head outside to wear our Hum v was at we were going out with two other groups in the same car, before I reached the Hum v Lieutenant Jason stops me and says

"All officers are given these phones you can contact your families and or others on the base when you would like to, you may let the members of your platoon use this phone as well. We also have video calls available for you, this phone was made for military personal only so don't take advantage of what I'm handing to you Officer Johnson." he said

"I won't sir" I said

"Good now head out we haven't got all day." he said I nod my head and I sprint towards the Hum v and we take off I look at the phone and it's huge it was covered in a hard fabric to avoid any type of damage it kinda looked like a iPhone wrapped around a small pillow or something I pull out the attena and Riley says

"Alex..I mean Officer Johnson what is that phone for.?" she asked

"Riley I've known you since 7th grade and we were in track together it's okay to call me by my first name here but just say Officer in front of the others just in case and Lieutenant Jason gave all Officers this to contact our families and other personal on the base so when we get back you guys can call your families and talk to them."

"Really that looks so cool and mind if I use it after you.?" said Zac

"Sure I don't see why not." I said

"Thanks Alex." Zac said and smiled at me

We arrive in the main city and the city looked quiet but we had to stay on alert no matter what after a spending almost the entire day  there we talked to some of the locals and they told us their stories and everything they've been through I teared up a little bit and they said they were grateful that we were there. I got the call that we had to leave and we decided to head back to base camp, once we finally got into our platoon we changed into our comfy clothes I pulled out the phone Lieutenant Jason gave me and I stared at the number I dialed I look at the clock it was 10:24 pm here so it would be 12:24 pm in California I clicked call and hoping Demi would answer.

Demi's POV

I walk inside the kitchen and I make myself something to eat Jeremy and Marissa are in the living room watching Tv, it's been 2 days since Alex left and I miss her like crazy I stare at the clock and it's 12:24 which means it's 10 pm where Alex is I hear my phone ring and I run over to answer it I see a number that I didn't recognize I wanted to ignore it but my heart was telling me to answer so I did

"Hello who's this.?" I said

"Hey baby it's me." I knew it was Alex and my heart skipped a beat and I yelled like a school girl I hear Alex laughing on the other line and Marissa runs in and says

"What's wrong is everything okay.?!" she said I cover my mouth and I smile as I feel my eyes tearing up I finally answer Alex back and said

"Hey baby how are you.? are you okay.?, are you safe how's everything.?" I said Alex laughs on the other end and I giggle a little and she says
