The Chase Has Begun

"One!" His scream crashed through my ears as I started to set myself up.

"Two!" I positioned myself like a runner getting ready at a track meet.

"THREE!" I tore off, kicking sand as I ran hearing the pounding of her footsteps behind me as I cut through the beach.

"ILL CATCH YOU GREY, ILL FINALLY CATCH YOU!" I heard her snarl as I picked up the pace.

"YOU'LL JUST HAVE TO CATCH ME FIRST VEX!" I screamed not looking behind me as I jumped into a shadow and appeared in another place on the beach.

"Heeeeeyyyyyy that's no fair using your powers should be considered cheating." I heard my best friend behind me whine, I shake my head to her response and started picking up my pace. I felt some heat rushing towards me and I instantly did a somersault and continued running as a blast of a fire ball went past me.

"Hypocrite!!" I yelled and I rushed through the beach wind and went invisible and stopped running looking for a shadow, as I heard Vex stop in her tracks.

"GREY THIS IS CHEATING HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO FIND YOU WHEN YOU ARE INVISIBLE!" She huffed complaining as usual as I do this all the time every time we play this game.

When I finally found a shadow that lined up behind her I jumped into it and landed a few feet behind her. Sneaking up behind her I whispered in her ear as I took down my invisibility wall, "boo."

She screamed and almost made my eardrums break as she tried to kick me, but I jumped back into the shadow and was back where I was before I was trying to scare her and looked over and smirked at her.

She growled, "GREY MATTHEW WHENEVER I CATCH YOU I'LL TORTURE YOU IN A THOUSAND WAYS!" She rushed towards me and I immediately started taking off faster than I did before. I really hope I'm never caught by her because she would be the scariest to be caught by, but first...

"But you know what Vex, first you gotta catch me mama." I broke out in hysterics as I heard her snarl at my back and heard the pounding of her feet pick up.

I ran and ran just waiting for her to give out when I found a cave and decided a wicked thought and yelled back at Vex, "Guess your walking back to the start by yourself."

She gasped, "You wouldn't dare leave me here all alone."

I turned back towards her as I was nearing the cave, "Watch me". I smirked one last time as I jumped into the cave and teleported all the way back to the beginning behind my other best friend.

"I'm back, Vitality". I whispered in his ear and he jumped 10 feet in the air and automatically built a energy shield around him.

I fell to the ground laughing as he just glared at me. "Not funny Grey you really scared me" he mumbled and then pouted at me.

"Did the little baby Vitality get scared of little ole me?" I cooed as I rocked back and forth on my feet and twirled my jet black hair around my finger.

He huffed and whined, "I'm not a babyyyy just because you've known me since kindergarten doesn't mean you can call me a baby." He sniffled and I laughed even harder.

When I finally cleared my tears and Vitality stopped glaring at me, I spoke up. "I left Vex 2 miles away from here again." Two miles was low for us today because we didn't have enough time, usually I'll let her run after me and try to chase me down once a day for 10 miles, it usually doesn't take that long since we are both fast runners.
