I tried to be the hero taking the X-Men high road and because of it Dreamer died. We've lost so much because we decided to keep playing by the old rules. I tried to picture a future with peaceful coexistence and reconciliation between humanity and mutants but the harsh reality dug it's claws into my mind. Every time it happens I lose hope and I'm forced to reflect over and old pain.
Or give our moral code and how we are supposed to fight. Don't hurt them too badly or strike first. Stop while your ahead and let them go. Sleep at night knowing they will never face any charges. Don't learn about your legacy or Esme's group. Don't seek out those who you respect and admire. Keep the smile off your face when you see what they've done and you gain knowledge about their background. Bury your dead and never put the killer into the ground.
Never go too far and hold yourself back. Be the bigger man and a even bigger target. It's the X-Mens rule book.
Now that I've joined them I'm going to take the damn book and destroy it. Not just tear it apart but watch it burn. You can't have this backward way and expect to survive this fight.
