When Brandon got home from dropping Lou off most of the family was in the kitchen and seemed to be talking quietly.

"Hey Brandon, how'd tonight go?"  Stef said as she handed Lena a dish from the sink

"It was good," he shrugged his shoulders, "I'm going to go upstairs and work on stuff,"

"Okay hun, keep your headphones on I think Callie is trying to sleep," Lena told him as she dried a dish,

Brandon was surprised Callie was trying to go to sleep, but he nodded and went upstairs.

The door to her room was cracked and the light was still on so Brandon knocked lightly before walking inside.

"Callie?" Callie saw him before she heard him, she pulled the headphones out of her ears and straightened up in her bed.

"Uh, yeah," she wiped her eyes, "Do you need something?" Brandon was eyeing her carefully,

"Um, no" he shook his head and furrowed his brows "I just wanted to say, tonight was fun," Callie pursed her lips into a smile, and raised her eyebrows,

"Yeah, it was," she swallowed hard and nodded

"Wyatt have fun?" Brandon sat down at the end of Callie's bed. Callie pulled her legs up and sat cross legged.

"Uh, maybe, I don't--" Brandon looked surprised, she looked down at the bed shaking her head. She couldn't get into this with Brandon.

"He say something?"

"Brandon, I can't talk to you about this" Brandon looked hurt,

"Callie--"

"Brandon, can you just leave me alone for a bit?" she picked up her iPhone and ear buds, and looked at the wall,

"I'll leave you to it then," he stood up and when he got to the door he looked back at her for a minute. Her eyes were still on the wall.

The next morning when she got up pretty early. When she got downstairs she started again to make biscuits and gravy. She loved Stef and Lena and they were her moms. Times like these thought when they were Brandon's moms first she missed her mom, she missed Colleen. She wanted comfort food. Brandon came down the stairs and when he saw her he paused for a minute.

Brandon went to the fridge and pulled out some milk.

"Morning," he said as he closed the fridge,

"Morning," Callie almost seemed to whisper it,

"Comfort food?"  Brandon said trying to make light of the tension he could feel between them,

"Yeah," Callie kept stirring the bowl, "I had a dream about my mom last night and um, I woke up wanting biscuits and gravy,"

"Have you had a chance to talk to Robert about her?" Callie looked up at Brandon a little confused, "I mean, I don't know what she was like when he knew her, how they met?"

"No, um," Callie shook her head and went back to stirring, "I really haven't had time alone just me and him. I usually end up hanging out with Sophia," she was kneading the dough with her hands now and checking the oven,

"Right, I knew that," Brandon couldn't remember the last time he was at a loss for words in front of Callie, "What are you up to today?"  Callie shook her head and walked over to the sink to wash the dough off.

"Nothing-- just biscuits and gravy as far as I know," Brandon nodded,

"I was planning on working on some music in the garage," Callie shook her head,
