"Pop quiz." His deep voice resonated through the whole classroom.

"You've got to be kidding me." I heard Jacob mumble right beside me. He looked at me in defeat. I just sighed.

"I think there's no need for me to say this, but I will anyway so you get the clear picture," he stated as his eyes met mine for less than three seconds. "Those of you who fail this exam, are out." Groans of desperation and low murmurs from students discerned the silence. Some of them complained and some others were scared for their lives. "Anyone care to differ?" He looked incredibly serious. A shady look covered his deep ocean eyes, a scowl plastered on his lips. You could cut the atmosphere with knives.

Based on all the horrified expressions, it was most likely that everyone here felt vulnerable and scared of their (highly ruined) maintenance in the program.

I found it hard to believe that this menacing man standing in the front of the classroom with his dominant façade, transmitting a feeling of pure daunt and unnerving desolation was the same man that three days ago had (in a probably illegal way) taken me to the hospital to see an aneurysm repair just to make me feel better.

I gulped.

How in hell was I going to pass this exam? The room was full of well experienced seniors.
