Yeah, I'd love to, I'll see you in 20 xxx
Wear something nice xx
Emma threw a shirt at me along with a pair of jeans.
"Put on a little make up, you look tired," she said. "No offense."
"Nah, I am, I stayed up last night writing a few things for work," I said, starting to put on the outfit.
"Look at you, Miss stay up late for work. And then there's me."
"Oh come on, you're doing good in New York, don't worry about it," I said, slipping on the black sweater. Once I was fully dressed, Emma pulled out her phone, thumbs flying across the keyboard.
"Okay, I got the address, where's the bore?"
"Okay, rude and he'll be here soon," I said, putting my phone and wallet in my back pocket. There was a knock at the door and I smirked. "See?"
I answered the door and Adam was dressed nicely, immediately taking me in a hug. I smiled and hugged back as he kissed the side of my head.
"Shall we?" Adam let me go and Emma swung the keys to the door on her finger.
"Yes, we shall Em," I said and she tossed the keys without warning for me to fumble and try to catch them. We followed her out and she gave the cab driver the directions. She looked rather nice and I figured she would've gone without me if I refused. I put my head on Adam's shoulder as we rode.
We arrived at a building I had never seen before and I grasped Adam's hand. Tyler was waiting outside for us, tapping his foot. When Emma got out he ran over and hugged her.
"So glad you could make it!! I can't wait for you to meet all my friends!!" He lived all the way in Cali and had friends here? What was this party for anyways? He led us inside, a room full of tables with many people and neon lights overlooking it all. It seemed more like a lounge with a dance floor than a party. Then again this place looked to be filled with mellow 20-30 year olds, not really party animals. He pulled Emma away, they got along better anyways and I clung to Adam's arm.
"I feel like we don't belong here, like I don't know much about Tyler," I said and Adam nodded. His phone buzzed and he looked at the text.
"Oh, dear, I'm so sorry, but I have to get to the lab," he said. Being a physicist, Adam was busy a lot.
"It's okay, I'll just find Emma, I love you," I said, pecking his cheek.
"Love you too," he said, waving me goodbye. I felt bad he had to leave to work and because now I was all alone. I spotted Tyler and Emma laughing somewhere and I headed towards them. Of course, my luck had me run smack dab into someone.
"So sorry, love," he said and I back up.
"No, that was my fault? I wasn't watching where I was g--"
"(Y/n)?" He interrupted and I glanced up.
"Joe?"
"What in the world are you doing here?" He asked, tackling me in a hug. I couldn't tell if we were making a commotion or not, but I didn't care.
"Some guy named Tyler invited me and my friend! Do you know Tyler?" I asked, letting go, but holding his arms.
"Yeah, Oakley? We met through YouTube," he said. I paused and frowned.
