Welcome to West Cove High. The place where not only do I dread showing up at, but the place I also love showing up at. My name is Nevaeh Weston. Yes, that is heaven spelled backwards. I am 16 and have the perfect life. Perfect family, perfect car, perfect friends, and most of all,...the perfect boyfriend. Christopher Evans was not only the most liked boy in school. He was the star quarterback for the schools football team. Go Eagles! We have been dating ever since he gave me a Ring Pop candy back in 7th grade, in which he promised he would marry me. It has been 4 years, and the best 4 years to say the least. He was not all just good looks. He was smart, with A's across the board. He was strong, in which he would always pick me up over his shoulder when ever I have, what he calls, "hothead tantrums." But most of all, he was brave. A characteristic I found out about all too late.
It was October 17, 2008. I remember it clearly as it was the Friday of the Homecoming Football game. It was the West Cove Eagles vs. the Liberty Mustangs. I was at home getting ready for the big game. I was super excited, as for Christopher had representatives from different colleges and universities coming to watch him play. It was about 2 hours before the game, that I got a text from Christopher.

"You coming out tonight? :)" it read.

The smiley face at the end of that message was the only thing that I needed to put a cheesy smile on my face.

"Duh! How could I miss the biggest game of the year? How can I miss any game that you play? You feeling nervous at all?" I texted.

He responded almost immediately.

"A little bit, but I will play my hardest for you. I love you."

"I love you too. Good Luck!!" I responded.

I finished getting ready and I went downstairs to find out that the house has been empty the entire time. I went towards the kitchen, and that is where I found an orange sticky note stuck on the metallic fridge door.
It read...

"Going to be out late. Have fun at the game and don't host a party at our house if we win. I mean it. Love you. -Dad"

"No parties huh?"

With an apple in hand, I grabbed my keys and went out the door.
I drove around town to pick up my friends Ellie & Tania, to go eat before the game. We stopped by at Bobby Tay's diner. Bobby Tay's was the only place I would go to in search of a strawberry milkshake. I remember going out to eat with my dad here every time I was tired of going to those fancy as hell restaurants that my dad liked to go to.
My dad is the CEO of Weston Autos, the biggest automobile enterprise in LA. It is thanks to him, that I live the life I live now. My mother passed away when I was 2 years old. It is the only reason of why I don't remember her.
My dad always tells me that I grew up to be as beautiful and smart as she was.

"Earth to Nevaeh! Come on we are going to be late for the game!" Called Ellie, bringing me back from my flashback daydream.

Ellie has been my best friend for as long as I could remember. You could say, we are inseparable.

"Yeah yeah, I'm coming!" I said leaving a $20 tip to the waitress.

We got in my car and sped downtown towards the high school field, not knowing that my life was about to change forever.
Once we found a parking spot, we ran towards the field and found seats in the front row. 10 minuets later, the announcer came on the speaker.
