In 1921, when Esme was changed, you were born. You grew up never knowing your aunt, only hearing of her in the occasional tales told by your father. He died when you were seventeen, and your mother had left you both when you were four. In a house fire, the only thing you'd managed to save was the sweater that your aunt had made for your father before she died. When you were twenty, you were changed while wearing that sweater.
