Chapter 43: Flashback

*flashback*

Hyunjin and I had went out for ice cream a couple blocks away from the coffee chop. So far we'd been out for about 3 hours, just eating and talking. I couldn't stop thinking about how I just left Felix. Believe me, I still planned to go over to Seungmin's after I was done with Hyunjin.

I laughed at a joke Hyunjin made about a passer on the street, right now we were sat on a bench in a local park. My laughing trailed off when I looked over to Hyunjin, who was staring at me with a smile.

"You're really beautiful, you know that?" He asked.

I averted my eyes from his and cleared my throat, "uh, thanks Hyunjin."

He nodded and leaned back into the bench.

"I originally wanted to go out with you tonight so I could ask you something...now I'm just to chicken to do it," he mumbled and begun to play with the sleeves of his jacket.

I furrowed my brows and said, "why? I won't judge you or anything. You can ask me."

I put my hand on his shoulder for a friendly comfort and he looked up at me with a sad smile.

"I'm just not sure if it's what you'll want to hear.."

I cocked my head to the side in a confused manner and he turned on the bench to face me.

"You know what? I'll just do something else to convey my question!" He suddenly smiled.

One could say I was very fucking confused. I sat there staring at him waiting for an explanation, but to my dismay he only leaned toward me. Every being in my body told me to back away, don't let him do it. But, I stayed frozen, unmoving.

By now he was centimetres away from my face, and I could feel his breath on mine. I wanted to say 'stop, don't do it' but it was like my voice was caught in my throat.

He moved closer, and I could feel his lips brush against my own. Nothing. I felt no attraction, no sparks.

When his lips fell on mine, he kissed me slowly, and nervously. I moved my lips with his and his hands moved behind my neck. He pulled himself closer to my body, and kissed me harder. There was love in this kiss, but it was not coming from me. Hyunjin was conveying his all in this kiss and all I could give back was half hearted effort.

My eyes shot open and I quickly pulled away from him. He was shocked and breathing heavily.

"What-"

"I can't," I said interrupting what ever he was about to say.

His face fell, embarrassed of his actions and my words. I wanted to tell him he was great, and that he will find someone who loves him as much as he loves them but my mouth remained shut.

He shook his head and stood up from the bench, "I should have seen this coming."

I looked down at me feet. I was ashamed of myself. I led him on, when I knew about his feelings, when I knew this was probably going to happen.

Felix... did I lead him on too?

"I'm leaving...sorry," Hyunjin mumbled and turned to walk away.

I didn't answer...I didn't stop him. I didn't even watch him walk away. I closed my eyes and leaned into the bench. All that I could think of was how big of a douche bag I was. I still am.
