PUZZLED

I woke up, not feeling good. Rubbing my head, I sat up and looked around.

'Is this the clinic?'

Before I could even think, a cold compress was given to me. I took it without giving a second thought. As I damped it on the sore part, I suddenly remembered everything.

The game.

The ball.

Delilah.

That girl!

I snapped my head towards the person and saw Delilah. Because I'm not thinking rationally, I said the first thing that came out of my mind.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, rather snapped.

She looked everywhere to avoid my gaze. She seemed uneasy.

"You have a bruise." she stated.

'Thanks, captain obvious.' I thought.

A frown formed on her face and I realized that I voiced out my thoughts.

But who cares?

Let's mess up with her conscience.

"I know. I'm sorry." she muttered, guiltily.

'Hah! Good acting!' I mentally scoffed.

"What do you mean..." Not again. Did I say that out loud again?

Never mind.

I'll just ask her again.

"What are you doing here?" I sneered.

I can see her fiddling with her hands.

Is she nervous?

No! Don't let her decieve you.

"Watching over you?" Delilah answered unsurely.

When did you learn those acting skills? You're really talented.

She was staring at me and waited for my response. So I gave her one.

"Concerned over me? All of a sudden?" I asked suspiciously.

She sighed rubbing her forehead. Sooner or later, she'll lose her patience.

"Look, I didn't mean it. I was aiming at your chest, but you ducked." I scoffed.

"So, it's my fault then?" Delilah shook her head quickly.

"No. I was apologizing."

I smirked to hide my irritation and mocked her.

"What a nice way to say sorry. I never knew it was done that way."

Her hands balled into fists. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean it." she said softly.

I raised my brow.

This enough! I'm tired of her acting.

I decided to end this. "You really look convincing. Unfortunately for you, I know you're not sincere. You're a hypocrite."

"Samson..." she trailed. "I really didn't mean it..."

"You didn't?" I mockingly asked.

"But I don't think you're guilty. I think you even want to repeat it."

She looked at me directly in the eye. Is that hurt? Impossible! She wasn't supposed to be affected.

"You really think the worst of me, do you?" she muttered, looking away from me. But that didn't stop me from seeing an emotion.
