Deanna

"Nag-staredown ako kay Jema" Hindi ko alam why these words came out of my mouth. Siguro kasi kanina ko pa iniisip. She was very kind sa akin when I went to get our ball which rolled to their side tapos ganoon gagawin ko sa kaniya? Hay, I messed up.

"Stop cursing. There are recorders." Ate Maddie said while fixing herself for our postgame interview.

I'm dead. I'm sure someone will make an article or worse, an issue about what I just said. Hay, bakit ba kasi I wasn't able to control my own mouth. Lagot nanaman ako mamaya for sure.

After the interview, naglakad na kami pabalik sa dugout para mag-ayos at kuhanin ang mga gamit namin para makauwi sa kami sa dorm. Papasok na ako when ate Maddie called me.

"Deanna."

"Y-yes, captain?" This is what I am talking about. Papagalitan na ako ni Captain.

"Be careful next time sa sasabihin mo especially when you're infront of the reporters. They can easily make an issue out of what you just said. Don't get me wrong, hindi kita kinakausap ngayon dahil pinag-iinitan kita katulad ng dati, because of what happened in the past. Kinakausap kita ngayon kasi concerned ako sa'yo. Baka lumabas nanaman ang mga bashers." sabi naman ni ate Maddie with a concerned voice.

I don't know what to say. I was left dumbfounded. I was expecting to hear harsh words from her like I wasn't using my brain or that it was such a stupid thing to say, but I didn't hear her say any of those. Instead, she said the things I least expected to hear from her.

"I'm sorry, Deanna. I was so immature. Isang side lang ang tinignan ko. I admit na nadisappoint ako sa'yo and nainis, but never ako nagalit. Sobrang disappointed lang ako kasi pumasok kayo sa team ni Ponggay na kayo na tapos maghihiwalay kayo bigla then ayaw mo magsabi ng reason why you broke up with her. I hope we can rebuild our friendship."

"I might cry." sabi ko nang wala sa sarili. There you go. I felt a tear escape from my eye then the next thing I knew is nakayakap na ako kay ate Maddie while sobbing really hard. I'm so happy. At least medyo nabawasan yung pain.

"Pwede ba kami sumama sa hug?" I lifted my head and saw ate Jho and ate Kat behind ate Maddie. Lumapit silang dalawa and nakisali nga sa hug.

"I'm happy for you, Deanna." ate Kat whispered.

After that very warm group hug, ate Jho dropped a question I was expecting to hear from them but not now.

"Can you tell us the real reason why you broke up with Ponggay?" Ate Jho said, putting emphasis on the word "real"

"Sana pagbigyan mo na kami para naman maintindihan namin yung side mo. Naniniwala kami ni Jho and nararamdaman namin na yung sinabi mo a year ago isn't the real reason." sabi ni ate Maddie habang hawak yung dalawa kong kamay.

I looked at ate Kat to ask kung anong gagawin ko. Nagkakaintindihan kami kahit sa mga tinginan lang. I saw her smile and nod at me. She's telling me na 'wag akong matakot at mahiya na magkwento sa kanila. Okay. I think oras na para malaman nila.

"Okay po. Let's talk about it somewhere else. Sana po hindi po malaman ng iba nating teammates ang about dito. Sana po atin-atin lang po." They all agreed. After that, we decided na kumain sa labas to catch up na rin and to tell them the real reason.
