Chapter 1

It was a cold Sunday night. The whole place was colored jet-black, with the inadequacy of light not permitting a clarified vision. In the background there was a huge park, one with a couple of trees scattered here and there. In its middle, you could make out two figures; A young teenaged boy, and a petite girl, about eight years old.

Looking closer at the small blonde-haired girl you could see that she was frozen with terror. Her eyes-wide open-were staring at the boy, ready to break, to burst into tears. The girl’s loud breathing revealed her fast heartbeat, her fear.

On the opposite, the boy just stood still, wearing a cold-yet emotionless- facial expression. He looked determined. That’s the only emotion you could translate out of his eyes. Eyes, blue as the sea…But also eyes, cold as the ice.

“Nooo!,” yelled the eight-year old girl as the boy took a step forward.

Her screams and shouts didn’t stop him from taking a few more steps, diminishing the distance between the two, to only a few inches.

The girl’s racing heart was now as loud as a lion’s roar. Her screams could pierce one’s eardrum.

That didn’t stop him either.

Bringing his hands closer towards the girl’s shaky, resistant body, he grasped her from the waist, pulling her with him.

“Wh-Where am I?,” cried the tiny girl, as she blinked her eyelids a couple of times

“You’re in hell,” spoke a voice, sending the petrified girl meters away from the floor.

“Chill young one”, added another one of the creatures, “It’s not like we’ll eat you. We’re plain demons after all. Not some sort of cannibals.”

Upon hearing such words, the girl couldn’t but hug her belly in disgust.

“How did I get here?” She managed to utter while hiding her face.

The young demon girl, who previously teased the child, now approached it, patting its head.

“Well.. ‘R’ brought you here through teleportation. Nothing to worry about”

“Huh? How come I not worry? How can’t I worry about my conclusion?” Her little hands were now fists.

“Because your fate is already sealed. After asking ‘HIM’, the one who controls fate, we learnt that you’ll be one of the best demons around. With that, we brought you here, to raise you.” The sixteen year old was now forming a smile.

“I… will be one of the best?” Inquired the little one.

“That is correct! You’re gonna live a perfect demonic life.” As she affirmed her words, she immediately left the narrow room.

She went  to the hallway, and from there to another room; a cozy one.

“Tch…,” she exclaimed as she started undressing.

“You know I am her too, right?” The voice made the girl pop. She surely hadn’t noticed him.

“Huh? What are you doing here ‘R’..I mean-“

“Just forget it. What are you mad at, anyways?”

“It’s the girl. The one you brought. I repeated to her the stupid lie about fate and… Oh well.. Apparently, I don’t enjoy deceiving others.” The girl’s voice was now serious. Yet it was still soft.

“But you’re good at it,” acknowledged the boy, not trying to cover his smile.

“Tch… I guess that’s why you do nothing but send me ‘reassure’ with lies all those people.” The ironic tone was clear, but along with her softening smile it was far from offending.

“…I suppose..” The boy was once again distant, cold. That drove the brunette mad.

“Oh come on. Just smile for once! Try to be warmer. You know; Not to look like a psychopath,” she chuckled as she brought her point fingers to the corner of her lips, like showing him how to smile.

A smirk escaped the boy’s lips. “Uhhmm.. I’d better be going,” he coughed, in an attempt to hide his awkwardness.

“Sure thing, tomato –because of the blushing- boy!” The girl giggled, as she sent him a smile through her eyes.

‘R’, as he felt his face burning, just sighed and left.

‘He ain’t no funny at all,’ thought the girl, immediately laughing it off. She knew it was a lie.

“Oh well…,” she uttered and turned towards the mirror in her room. For a while she just stood there, gazing upon her idol; checking out herself.

From the corner of her eye, she examined her heart-like face shape. Her eyes were like almonds, in the color of a light green, covered with something that looked like a forest of eyelashes. She smiled, knowing that her eyelashes were the most beautiful part of her face. He nose, was quite prominent –crooked and all-. Actually she was balanced out with her eyes and her cute, pinkish lips –always smiling-. Her hair used to be brown, now being colored in a mixture of a reddish brown. Taking a closer look at them, she realized that they were superly long, reaching the length of her waist. But they were looking good on her. Her short stracture (-a little taller than 5 feet- ), her slim, balanced body and her long –wavy at ends- hair, made her stand out of the rest of the girls at her age. She was something you’d definitely call as ‘cute’. Actually, she was charming.

But no one is perfect. She still had her insecurities about her height, her nose, her unusually shaped eyebrows (even when people kept telling her how much they loved ‘em), and even about her weight  (-despite the fact that she was like anorexic at times-)

“Hmpphh..,” she ranted. The girl wanted to know how HE saw her. With all those thoughts, she decided to close her eyes a bit, and take a nap. After all, the world she creates in her dreams is a much better place than reality.

‘You’ll be truly happy only when reality world surpasses your dreamed one,’ smiling upon thinking such a quote she fell asleep.
