“I’m sorry if you guys thought I was dead, but I needed to recover first.” Sabi ko kanila Ate Katie at Kuya Rob, who just still looked at me. “I needed to be well and back to normal bago ako magpakita sa inyo.”

 

Hindi ko rin naman sila masisisi kung magulat silang lahat pero talagang hindi ko ginusto ang lahat ng mangyari. Pagkagising ko, lahat sila umiiyak, and Mama Angie and Mama Val told me that they had just witnessed me being put off life support.

They had me transported to the hospital agad and they said I was almost vegetative for the past eight months. They performed tests and scans which told them that my brain was back to working function.

It’s really a miracle that I was alive after everything I’ve been through sabi nila.

Eight months akong walang malay and they have all given up. Kuya Gab told me everything and I couldn’t really agree with them. Kasi alam kong kahit na ganoon katagal yun, gigising ako at gigising para sa kanilang lahat.

“Who else knows?” tanong ni Ate Kate sa akin.

“Only six. Seven kung isasama si Ninay, but she hasn’t seen me yet.” Sabi ko. “Sila Mama Angie, Papa Ed, Mama Valerie, Papa Paul, Ate Nic at Kuya Gab lang.”

Natahimik nanaman ang lahat and the only sound that could be heard was Miggy, making baby noises habang pinipilit niyang abutin yung mukha ko. I let him up again and he chuckles to himself habang hinawakan niya yung pisngi ko. I couldn’t help but smile at the kid.

 

“Ayaw tigilan ang mukha ni Ninong Jacob?” sabi ko, wiping the edge of his mouth with my handkerchief. Nahawakan niya yung kamay ko, with both his little hands, examining it. “Sige kamay nalang ni Ninong, baby Miggy.”

 

Nakakatuwa kasi siya. Kamukhang kamukha ni Kuya Rob and he was just so cute. Walong buwan din ang namiss ko sa paglaki niya. Marami akong namiss alam ko, dahil I’ve been cut off from everything since I was recovering.Alam ko naman na may dahilan yun. Alam kong hindi alam ng lahat na buhay ako. Medyo nagtaka din ako dun noong una pero naintindihan ko rin ang gusto nila Mama.

 Kailangan muna nilang masiguro na okay ako. Noong una kasi hindi talaga ako makatayo, or makagalaw masyado. They feared na baka mabaldado ako, kaya kinailangan ko ng theraphy, and that’s where Ate Nicole came in. Hinire siya ni Mama, the same way they hired Kuya Gab to take over managing the company’s expansion. Ang inaasahan was a year and a half, but it only took five months.

I was that determined to get back my old life.

 

“Miggy, no.” sabi ko kay Miggy as he attempted to put my thumb on his mouth. “Dirty yan, baby.”
