I stand outside the door for a long time, I can't bring myself to knock. But I owe it to her, I have to. He was my responsibility.
I knock the door and Peter's Aunt answers it almost immediately, as if she were waiting for me.
'Where is he?' She asks, scared. I don't answer her and she lets go of the door, and falls against the wall.
'I will get him back. I promise you I'll find him.' I say, watching her bring her hands to her head.
'This is your fault.' She says, standing up straight and staring at me. 'You bought him into this. You pulled him into your little civil war and you gave him that new suit and you killed him.' She shouts.
'May, I'm so sorry. I never meant for this-'
'He's gone. Peter. Oh god. His parents left him with me. I was meant to look after him.'
'It's not your fault. It's mine. And I will fix it. I promise you.' I try to step closer to her but she stops me.
'Leave.' I stay still, 'get out of my house.' She says quietly. I hold up my hands in a surrender and back up.
'I am so sorry.' Is all I manage to say before she slams the door on me and I set off back to the compound.
