Not everything is beautiful
But we fool ourselves to believe
That everything is worthy of love

But some things are best left alone.

Not everything is created equally
But we fool ourselves to believe
That we exist as a whole in this world

But some things are just unfair.

When will we understand
That value cannot be measured
In appearance or virtue
Nor attributes unrecognized?

Why is the balance of the world
Threatened by the extraordinary
Existence of unnatural features
And conventional flaws?

We will never truly know.

Not everything is beautiful
But everything is luminous
And colorful in the blend of life

Because in full color, nothing is genuine.

All is ostensible and lacking clarity
But maybe that's the best way
To fool ourselves into believing in love.
