Note: And here's another chapter which I didn't really think would go past part one. But here it is! I hope you will like the chapter.
—————

It almost felt like the staring competition between them would continue on forever if not for the jester reaching for her hand. The cold touch of his in her soft palm took her by surprise, causing her to startle out of the eye contact from him and look at her hand.
The rusty hilt of a sharpened dagger was now resting on her hand, placed by the jester who called himself Cicero.
"A... d-dagger?" (Y/n) asked with a voice shaking with the cold of the icy wall that her back was pressed against... or perhaps the looming presence of the jester that caused fear so tremendous that she thought her heart would burst in any moment now.
"Rarely this has happened" Cicero whispered, following the mocking and menacing smile of his "That an assassin appeared to kill but instead made the victim a killer" he said, caressing her fingers softly with his before closing them on the grip of the dagger.
(Y/n) couldn't believe her ears, she knew that this jester was off in his head but to kill someone? And especially by an assassin? Why would anyone want her dead? A simple villager living in an almost isolated village?
"You must be joking!" she said, trying her best to smile but her words came out more like a plea than an exclamation
"Oh how I wish that" Cicero giggled, perhaps to see her so stressed out and shaking in the fear of his presence "but were you a little flamboyant... a little arrogant, I wouldn't have thought twice before putting that dagger through you" he replied apathetically.
The female gasped, nervously staring at him and thinking about what she had found herself in.
"Ah but that didn't happen, did it?" Cicero smiled, perhaps to reassure her "now there's something that (y/n) must do before you can join us... a family dedicated to kill the unfortunate who attracted our gaze" he said gleefully, finally stepping away from her, allowing her to walk away from the icy wall.
Upon hearing those words, (y/n) looked at the dagger that was given to her by Cicero
"Like... what?" she asked, staring at the short blade before looking at the jester who had his back turned to her by now.
(Y/n) heard a cold laughter before the jester looked back at her "take a wild guess... I have given you a dagger, spoke about killing..." he trailed off as he noticed the surprise in her eyes "no... no that's too much to ask from a person who has never even killed an animal!" She replied, for the first time her voice was loud and her brows held a frown.
"That's too bad... then I must kill you now" the jester had a sad expression though (y/n) couldn't tell if it was a genuine expression or him just mocking her
"If he doesn't, then Cicero is breaking a tenet and the void father shall be angry if I let such an easy prey walk away from me" he smiled innocently before producing another dagger from his sleeve. The jester noticed the fear and doubt in the female's eyes just as he took out the dagger "it is an interesting choice Cicero has offered... and he would like the sweet (y/n) to think... say... a day would be enough for the decision to be made... then he would appear again... goodbye" he giggled, leaving (y/n) to make a great decision on her own.
The jester left her back at Ivarstead, the reluctant and afraid female didn't even look back as he left the boundaries of the village "oh and try not to escape the dark brotherhood" he chuckled "for they will find you... and it would be a shame to kill such a pretty thing like you" he warned, his voice colder than before as he disappeared into the shadows of the night.

The jester returned to the sanctuary, Astrid, as if was staring at the doorway all this long. Cicero couldn't even enter the place properly and she asked him "is the mark eliminated? Have you completed your task?" There was curiosity, urgency and even anger in her quiet voice.
To her reply, Cicero just laughed "all in time" he said and left for his own chambers.
Leaving an angry Astrid behind who kept swearing under her breath.
Cicero was concerned about this task. Though he didn't kill her, that wasn't the matter that worried him. What really worried him, was something that he wasn't so sure about, he knew that even if (y/n) wanted to, she cannot escape him but what if she is unable to assassinate anyone in this given time? Then he has to complete his task and send her to Sithis, perhaps this is what worried him the most... that he had to kill her.

Cicero returns to Ivarstead the next night, knocking at (y/n)'s door.
The door just opens with a slight creaking noise, the jester stands there for a few moments before he walks in, his eyes looking around for the female.
Just a few steps into the house and a strange object rolls out from the dark at the foot of the jester, the dim light of the moon revealed it to be a human head. Cicero stared at the head for a while, trying to recognize the person but he wasn't so sure.
"I did as asked" the ever so familiar voice came into the hearing of Cicero as he looked to find the female standing partly in the shadow and partly in the moonlight, she held the same dagger that now dripped blood. The dress she wore was now stained in blood and the flowers in her hair was no longer there
"The soul of this unfortunate now rests in the void..." she said coldly as she walked closer to the jester "I believe you have an assassin to train" a sinister smile crept up the jester's lips upon hearing her words, he was more than happy to hear them...
