Your (e/c) eyes gazed at him with sadness as he walked to the very ground where his father had accepted his death, his blonde tresses lightly swaying in the eerie breeze, there was no smile or joy glowing in his face, you just saw him quietly walking in front of that wicked fel portal with his head down and eyes glued to the ground. The air reeked of evil, surrounded by green fel magic that ate away the land itself.
"How could you just leave?!" but Anduin paid no heed to Genn's shouting, all he remembered that...his father was now gone.
"Why...? I couldn't...even see you for the last time..." his heart ached in grief as droplets of tears form in his sapphire eyes, and shadows of sorrow now rest on his brows.
Anduin's golden locks covered his face and eyes from the rest around him, shielding him away from the unknown evil that maybe watching him. He wasn't afraid, he just wanted to be left alone. Anduin gazes at the distant hills, where echoes from the past disappear before forming a final shape.
"Father... W-Why..." the prince fell to his knees in the very place where the former king of Stormwind had been assassinated.
Anduin brushed aside the dust that covered the sword Shalamayne, now faintly glowing.
He glanced up at the fel fortress "you never surrendered" a lone tear escaped his eyes "even at the very end..." he gazed at the fortress before looking back at the blade
"I can never be like you.... I can never be the hero you were..." Anduin muttered to himself, his voice overwhelmed with sadness as he lifted the blade in his hands "I can't be the king you were..." he closed his eyes, unwilling to look at the sword.
"Anduin..." Genn Greymane walked to him
"Please, I want to be left alone...just for a moment" he replied, trying to sound okay even though he was breaking inside.
Genn looked at Velen, the Draenei prophet nodded as the two walked away. Leaving you standing alone with a devastated prince.
You can't help but feel guilty, "was it my fault? No the legion was too strong... but if I tried harder, if.. if I fought more courageously... if I followed king Varian, could I save him?" Your gaze shift back to Anduin, he was still silent and didn't move a muscle.
"(Y/n)...if you'd please come here, for a bit?" The prince looked at you, still having his manners intact and collected. He truly was an excellent example of a priest of light.
You nodded as you walked to him, kneeling beside him and your eyes looked at him, grieving just as he was now.
Anduin held your hands and placed them in his, no words shared in between you two just both gazing at the Shalamayne.

The sky occasionally lightened up with the rolling thunder and the rain was not ceasing. The battle ship was near to the Broken Shore as you held your daggers in your hands as you awaited the demonic assault that was now inevitable. You couldn't see king Varian anywhere, and there were already lesser demonic creatures on board.
Soon a fierce battle took place, as the swarms of felbats charged into the ship. You began to shoot the creatures with your arrows and slowly proceeded on to fighting the other demons.
"Where is the king?!" A knight shouted as he killed the towering fel guard with other soldiers
"I'm going to look for him! Hold the demons back!" You replied worrying about Varian.
As you proceeded on to find him, you saw another fel guard raging at you.
Your quick movements did not help you, as the demon grabbed your small form and slammed it against the wooden walls, as he was about to hurl his glaive through your heart, he was stabbed by someone from behind him.
You looked to see the king of stormwind save you from that demon
"Why are you roaming around when there's a war going on?!" He said in surprise
"I came here to look for you! The ship is overrun with demonic soldiers!" You replied quickly. He looks at the outer part of the ship and ran towards the battle.

"Victory is ours! Back to the gunship everyone!" Varian ordered as he fended off the remaining demons. Everyone began to do so, as you held the rope ladder, you looked at him and you only felt like something evil was bound to happen.
More demons poured out from the portal as their leader, Gul'dan, hurled a green meteor aiming for the ship.
It was dodged by an inch, but soon after a reaver began to attack the ship with its giant claws.
Varian looked at the gigantic creature, there were only two choices. Either plunge at the creature and fall to his certain death or take a risk and get on board with everyone's death imminent.
He reached up at Genn only to hand him a scroll, speaking something to him before plunging at the reaver.

You saw him kill the creature, but soon he was impaled by a fel guard, his sword dropping from his grasp. There is where the warlock, Gul'dan imploded him with demonic magic.

You remember this as if it happened just yesterday, you glanced at the prince, only to find him looking at you, his eyes glistening in tears
"I...always had thought...that father would see me...becoming a king, he'd put the crown himself..." his voice broke as tears fell out from his eyes, his grip on your hands toughened.
You quietly wrapped your arms around him, embracing him, trying to comfort him.
He appeared to be surprised for a moment before he embraced you, quietly weeping on your shoulders.
You gently rubbed his back, occasionally running your hand through his sun-kissed locks.
"I can never be a king...not like him, he isn't here to guide me anymore... all hope is lost" you were astonished to hear these words from Anduin, he used to make you smile by his optimistic words and today he was broken?
"Don't say that!" You said as you let him go from the embrace and looked at him, but he wasn't looking back, he was staring at the ground. You tried to hold back your own tears, wiping away his.
At your touch, he felt yet more saddened as tears yet again ran down from his eyes "if you loose hope, then we are lost today! Your father trusted you!" your voice trembling as your words came out as a melancholic chastise. He glanced at you, then at the sword. Anduin turned to you, leaning close, resting his head on yours as he looked at a surprised (y/n) with his lidded sapphire eyes.
"Anduin?..." you murmured as you felt his hand brushing against your cheek.
He gently pulled you to face him, your eyes involuntarily close as he innocently kissed your lips.
After a moment or two, he pulls back from you. His cheeks reddened as he shyly glanced at you before looking away. You smiled as you picked up the sword and placed them on his hands, the sword glowing brightly as the prince looked at it, "Anduin, it's your destiny..." you quietly said, admiring the magical glow of Shalamayne
"Can I do this..?" Anduin still uncertain, you nodded encouragingly
"Yes, hope is not lost"
