A D A R A A L I
I stepped on the stage in my full garb and walked towards the pole seductively in my six inch heels. I heard he crowd yelling my stage name Lady in Black. All I could think in my head was this was "this is for the money," over and over again.
I was a Muslim deceiving my religion, but I tried everything. I applied to the corner stores that were of walking distance. Buses didn't come this way but I still applied no matter what, but everyone is skeptical about a Muslim girl working in their shop and I would never take off my hijab.
The only scary part about this job is that it's dangerous. I come across predators more often than normal. But I stayed positive because I wanted to do this for my eight brothers and sisters. My parents could barely make ends meet so I helped being that I was the eldest.
I finished up dancing and collected my money from the stage and exited. I looked over at the door and there was a group of guys coming in and high. You could tell they were celebrating. They were talking to my boss who was laughing with them.
"E we boutta have you lit, my nigga. Boutta have bottles poppin' and jawns droppin' G. It's yo fuckin' birthday dawg. Imma send you my best bitch." My boss said. He started looking around and I tried to inch my way into the back but he called my name.
"Ayo c'mere." He said.
I put on my game face under my garb that revealed only my eyes. I walked towards them giving my best walk. I stood in front of my boss while they all eye raped my body.
"Take birthday boy right here to the back. Whatever he wants he gets. Understand?" He said in a serious tone.
I never had to have sex with anyone here. I wanted to wait until I was married. I hoped he didn't want what I thought he wanted. His boys cheered him on giving him a Hennessy bottle and pushed him towards me. I was scared. I normally tried to keep myself low profile and I never had to give a private lap dance. EVER.
E, I think his name was, grabbed my ass as I was walking with this full tattooed arm. I glared at him and looked back at him. I hated to admit, but he was sexy as hell with a gorgeous smile. But that didn't change the fact that I was scared and not comfortable at all.
Once we were in the red room he closed the door pulling down his pants revealing his dick and sat down pulling out a blunt. Another thing I hated to admit, he was huge down there. Nothing I've ever seen before from other guys that jacked off to me dancing.
I stood by the door hesitant. "Well come suck it g." He said pulling at his blunt a few times then blowin smoke in my direction.
"I-"
"Lemme see if u gotta pretty mouth under that." He smirked.
It all was just a turn off. How could someone so fine be so cruel? I shook my head at him.
"Fuck you work here for if I don't get no neck?" He glared at me. He looked me in my eyes and somehow he softened. He pulled his pants up.
"You ain't suppose to be in no place like this G. This fo everybody type jawns, feel me?" His sexy New York accent glided threw my ears.
I softly spoke up. "They don't accept Muslims— well at regular jobs, and I really need the money." I confessed.
"Here." He handed me a wad of cash. It made me wonder what he did for a living.
"I can't take this." I said trying to give it back.
"I don't wanna see you in here for a long time. I'm Muslim too and I can tell you really go by you're religion so I want you to take this and go home." He said.
I looked at him for what seemed like forever. I teared up and breathed out trying to hold my tears but being the sweet innocent girl I was, I ran into his arms hugging him crying. I knew he felt awkward at first but he ended up hugging me back.
"It's all good lil mama." He said pulling back.
"Sorry." I said wiping my eyes carefully.
"Don't cry yo. You good." He comforted. I simply just nodded.
"Can I put a face to a name?" He asked.
I pulled off my garb and revealed my face as my hair cascaded down my back. "I'm Adara."
He stared at me. "I'm E." He finally said.
"And that's short for?" I asked.
"Ethan, but only my folks call me that." He shrugged.
"Well, I like Ethan better. So thank you so much... for everything." I smiled and put my garb back on walking out the room.
Later
After getting the money from Ethan I gathered all my belongings and changed into my regular clothes and kept my garb on for secrecy.
"Look at this bitch. She think she better than everyone cause that fine ass nigga was fuckin her pussy and giving her money." One of the other strippers said.
I ignored everything cleaning up my area. "She a hoe and a hypocrite. In her religion they wear them shits to show respect for they body for not showin too much skin, but this hoe show everything but her face. I bet she ugly as fuck." Another one commented.
They busted out laughing. "Better stop. She Muslim you know they bomb shit up." The first one said.
I just left the room with my bag and started my walk home. I walked about six blocks and that wasn't even close to home. My legs were hurting and the spring weather really killed my allergies. I heard loud music behind me and ratchet voices.
"There that bitch is right there!" They pulled over getting out the car.
I looked back seeing it was the girls from the club. I started to run but I caught by a huge man. I screamed but I was punched in the face silencing me.
"Take her bag." I heard someone say.
I tried to fight back. That money was keeping me out of that hell hole and it was for my family. I cried and tried to plead but the beating became worse. For my life I just let the bag go letting them take everything. I laid on the ground in fetal position trying to cover myself.
After they were finished I got up sore and bleeding. I limped home which took about one hour and a half. My little sister opened the door and luckily my clothing covered my body so she couldn't see how badly I was hurt. I went to the bathroom and soaked in a cold bath.
I did everything to get out that lifestyle but it seemed like I was back at square one just like my mother and father. I sat in the tub praying that I would finally get out of this mess but who knows if Allah would even care to listen. I deceived myself.
After hours of praying and soaking in freezing water. I finally got out and did a remedy for bruising and pain with a little fire, wax, and a regular glass cup. I finished up feeling so much better and laid down on the floor in the living room where I had to sleep with three of my siblings slept as well since there was eleven of us all together and I had eight siblings. My mom and dad shared a room with four siblings leaving four to sleep in the other room and us three to take the living room.
I prayed one more time before drifting off to another day that I had to step back into that hell hole I was so close to getting out of.
