Earlier.

Adam Anderson couldn't stop smiling. After all today wasn't just another day. His mind swam back to this day seven years ago when he stood watching Sarah walk down the aisle, magically glowing and gorgeous.

To celebrate this sweet occasion, they were going out on a date in one of the most luxurious restaurants. Sarah had already sent Rita to her aunt to be babysat while they went out together. Adam touched his side pocket every few minutes remembering the present he wanted to give her. He was driving home as fast as it was legally privileged.

After seven years of marriage, of which six were with Rita, the couple really treasured their alone time. Adam parked his car and stepped out. He knew just beeping the horn would get her out, but his Sarah was far more precious for that.

He took quick steps passing by his rich green yard, he kneeled down and picked out one of their crimson red roses. He fixed his suit, took a deep breath, and rang the doorbell. His hands were clasping, unclasping, and he was very alert. Even after being married for that long, he always loved impressing her. The door opened revealing a beautiful redhead. She was wearing a classy tight black dress that complimented her form. She smiled a tired smile. They looked at each other and chuckled.

Adam leaned in "You look beautiful as always, honey." he said giving her a peck on her forehead.

She smiled at him again whispering a "thank you" but something was off with her smile.

Adam escorted her to the passenger seat and opened the door for her. He lightly jogged around the car to the driver seat and quickly got in.

The ride to the restaurant was rather silent. It bothered Adam, he looked at Sarah and watched as she enjoyed the soft breeze. Something was off about her, he even felt that her beautiful crystal blue eyes were a shade or two darker. Her smile that used to be "brighter than his future" now seemed lifeless to him. He was worried.

Once they arrived in, Adam took her arm and wrapped it around his. He wanted her to feel sheltered, he wanted to take whatever it was that was troubling her and making her act that way and carry it himself, if not demolish it.

Adam stroked her cheek softly "I love you". She held his hand on her cheek and grinned whispering the three words back.

They went on and entered the restaurant. They were welcomed by a rush of chill and the warm-smelling frothy goodness. Adam knew it was Sarah's favourite restaurant, she would usually look around in awe no matter how many times they went, but today she was just looking in front with that uncanny smile plastered on her face. They sat and ordered their meals. The sound of light chattering, knives and forks on plates made Adam feel nostalgic. This was where they had their first date.

"Remember our first time here?" Adam's smile was from ear to ear.

"Of course." She gave him a quick look without changing her ghostly expression.

Adam twinkled. "Remember what you wore that day?" He looked at her dress beaming.

He remembered the fluffy navy dress she wore which contrasted the colour of her hair and complimented her eyes.

Sarah hummed a "no." to him fidgeting and looking around anxiously. "I don't really remember."

Sarah had always been able to recite everything about their first date and wedding. Adam didn't understand how she could suddenly forget, but he saw that it troubled her.

"Here," He put his hand in his side pocket getting out a long slender box.

He slowly opened it watching her intently. It was a costly sliver necklace.

"..It's beautiful! Thank you, honey!" Her darker blue eyes watched him and she smiled.

He cleared his throat, took the necklace and placed it gently around her neck. He lightly patted her and returned to his seat smiling.

"I'm glad you like it." He replied. She smiled at him.

Today her eerie expressions made Adam feel uneasy, but he tried to smile back.
