Chapter 3

Jace's  P.O.V.

As we walked into the Pandemonium, Alec said to Clary, "Would you like a drink?" I was just going to ask her that. I have to win the bet because I hate losing.

When they went to the drinks bar, I thought of excuses to talk to Clary to get her away from Alec, but then I thought, why make up an excuse to talk to her when I could offer to take her away from Alec?

I made my way to Clary and said, "Would you like me to take you away from Alec here? I know he can be a real bore." I then flashed her a dazzling smile and winked.

"No thanks!" She said. "It was kind of rude for you to interrupt when I was talking to Alec sooooo..." She then turned to chatter with Alec again and he smiled at me, showing that he thinks he won. Not yet Alec, not yet.

Clary's P.O.V

Holy shit! Jace was just trying to take me away from Alec. I declined because although he was handsome, I know he was a player and he was just trying to sleep with me. Alec warned me he was going to do something like this when we were talking earlier. I'm beginning to like Alec. He seems very nice and sweet.

"Would you like to dance?" Alec asked me. He seemed very cute when he was nervous.

"I would love to!" I replied. He took me on the dance floor and we started dancing crazily. After a while,  I started getting sweaty and tired. "I'm getting worked up! Would you like to go for another drink?" I asked Alec.

"Sure!" He answered. We started walking over there when suddenly he exclaimed, "How about we go back home to get a drink. It is quite expensive here."

"It's ok, I can pay," I said, feeling confused. He seemed excited to go there a moment ago.

"No its ok. I'm going to go back to the Institute," he said, sounding like he was on the verge of tears. He then left.

That was weird. I looked at the drink bar and there were two people making out. I went to find Izzy so she could maybe tell me what happened.
When I saw her dancing with a couple of vampires. "Izzy!" I said. "Do you know what happened to Alec? We were going to get drinks and then he bailed to go home."

She then looked at the drink bar. "Fuck! No wonder Alec didn't want to go!  That's Magnus making out with someone over there." I looked over there and saw a guy with black spiky hair and glitter all over him.

"Magnus?" I questioned. "As in his ex-boyfriend?"

"Yep," she replied. "The one and only. The one that broke his heart. They decided to break up because apparently it wasn't 'working out', but I think something else happened. Alec won't tell me though because it is a sensitive subject for him."

"Oh my gosh! I didn't know! I feel bad for suggesting that we go get a drink!" I exclaimed.

"Don't be! Alec needed to get over it and plus he likes you. If you didn't notice, you are so oblivious. He's been staring at you since the moment you got here. Actually same goes for Jace. He's been staring at you nonstop." Izzy told me.

"No way! Jace? Alec told me he is a big player. He asked to take me away from Alec earlier!" I said, not believing her for a second.

"It's sooooo true! Look behind you. He's doing right now as we speak," Izzy said to me.

I looked behind me and Jace was staring at me with a hungry look. "What the fuck? He looks like he wants to eat me! What a creep! Also, he is totally a player."

"Actually it looks like he does want to eat you!" Izzy said whole giggling. "But, I've never seen him look like that at any of the girls he has hooked up with. You must be special."

"Me? I'm not special. I'm just like any regular shadowhunter. Anyway I'm going to get a few more drinks. Have fun dancing and I'll see you later." I waved to Isabelle and walked towards the drink bar again.

I ordered ten shots of Vodka and drank them all in a matter of minutes.

Jace's P.O.V

Clary was so beautiful. I loved her locks of fiery red hair and her bright green eyes. Shit! What was I thinking? I do not like her. I just play with girls like that for fun, so why was Clary different? I saw walked over to the drinks bar and saw her down about ten shots. I walked over to her and said, "Clary are you ok? I just saw you you drink ten shots?"

"I'm ok! But don't take me home! I wanna stay here forever!" She said with a pouty face. I tried hard not to laugh because she looked so cute.

"Are you drunk?" I asked her. She in fact, did seem very drunk.

"Nooooo I am perfectly fine goldilocks!" She said while feeling my hair. "It's sooooo soft! Can I cut off some and keep it?"

"No sweetie you can't. I'm going to take you home because you are obviously drunk." I said to her.

I carried her and took her outside and started walking back to the Institute. "Jace you are sooooo pretty." She said, smiling at me.

"I know I am. But thanks." I replied to her. After a few minutes I came to the Institute and I went into my room and put her on my bed. She was fast asleep so I tucked her under my covers. I took off my shirt and put on my boxers and fell asleep beside her.
