➢ the scientist ,tfp!shockwave

Start from the beginning

You nuzzled into his jacket, taking in the scent like a bloodhound puppy. It was on instinct really. But there was something a bit more strict to it. You thought it felt as more of an automatic impulse. But eh, who had time to think about that right? There was so much to take in right now.

You backed up a bit to look up at his face. He held onto your arms and stared right back at you. He wasn't smiling, but his expression wasn't negative. He had an inviting look on his face, almost knowing. You could see it in his eye. His red eye.

You could also see that his eyepatch was metallic. There were a few led lights that outline the material but for the most part it was reflective. You could see your reflection. Well, part of it. Which was funny because as you stared into it you noticed a light blue hue...

And as you investigated further,

It was your eye.

"What?" you yelped in distress. You pushed Shockwave away and stared down at your hands, your arms. Your entire body, everything...

It was metal.

I was just guessing at numbers and figures
Pulling your puzzles apart
Questions of science, science and progress
Do not speak as loud as my heart

You stared back at Shockwave, who had the same bare look on his face. He sighed deeply and turned around, his hands clasped behind his back.

"What happened to me?" you cried. There was a warm wet feeling clouding your eyes. As you reached up you realized you were crying, and the tears were black.

"I saved you."

"From what?"

"Yourself I suppose if you want to continue being this melodramatic."

"Dramatic? I'm a damn machine! And you're not! H-how-"

"'Machine' is such a primitive word, I prefer the term A.I."

"I don't understand.." you hugged yourself. Feeling no comfort. Only a hard, cold surface of what once was.

"But even so, you're more than that to me."

He turned around and started walking towards your quivering figure."You are my greatest creation."

"So, I'm just a breakthrough in science for you? Is that all?"

"I don't think you comprehend the depth of my reasoning. I saved you for a reason, wouldn't you think?"

"No."

He chuckled and it seemed so unnatural for a person like him you couldn't help but shiver.

"I saved you because I admire you deeply." He was right in front of you know. That lovely, twisted scent filling your nostrils once more. He forced you to look up at him with a finger under your chin. Using his other hand, he brushed away your tears with his thumb. "Don't let coolant cluster near your optics, you'll rust easier."

You nodded slowly, giving into the toxic maturity of his nature. "How did you save me?" you whispered.

"Nevermind that. As I was saying, I did it because I admire you." He leaned in a little closer. "And I will soon expect you to do the same, my dear."

He softly kissed your forehead.

Warmth quickly spread throughout your body as he did so.

It was an electrifying ecstasy and from the slightest intimate touch. What if it went further than this?

Tell me you love me
Come back and haunt me
Oh and I rush to the start
Running in circles, chasing our tails
Coming back as we are

He pulled away and took your hand into his, "Come, there is much to be tested."

You followed, still lost in the bliss of a few seconds ago.

Nobody said it was easy
Oh it's such a shame for us to part

You saw that he was leading you across the room to the big, bulky looking machine that looked straight out of some horror movie. You hesitated.

"Tested?"

"I want to make sure your primary functions are fully operational."

"What is my primary function?"

"..."

"Shockwave?"

A flickering screen caught the corner of your eye. There was a girl, a girl with a resemblance to Shockwave. She had skin and long flowing hair, she was human. Not metal. Not a machine. Not an A.I. Not a creation. She was lying still, her eyes were closed. A man who looked just like Shockwave stood over her, monitoring some type of machine that hovered right above her eye. A few moments later, the machine plunged right into her eye. Blood splattered everywhere and a faint scream could be heard. You watched as the girl struggled against her restraints and as the narrow machine twisted and dug deeper into her face.

That girl seemed familiar. That man seemed familiar.

Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be so hard

Just as a gasp escaped your lips Shockwave reached up to the side of your head at the speed of light and pushed a button. Just like a switch, your sight was immediately shut down. You held your arms out in a panic, scared of what was to come.

"Another failure so it seems."

"I'll be sure to not allow it again," you felt a comforting warmth spread once more. This time starting at your lips. "For both of our sakes."

Every light in your body started to leave you. If there was any pain, you didn't feel it. In fact, you've never felt more at home.

I'm going back to the start

Just kidding, don't. I don't wanna be sued.
