Blinky had struggled, scratched, and bit like a feral cat, and he had nothing to show for it except many bruises and tight ropes securing his legs to a tree. So far the humans had remained huddled some distance away, staring at Blinky and whispering amongst themselves. Blinky could overhear things like: It's wearing clothes, I can't think of anything close besides armorwings. Do you think it's intelligent? It has no scales either. What kind of dragon doesn't have wings? Guys, I'm not sure that it's even a dragon at all.

Finally, a skinny brunette boy approached him, slowly as silently, just as one does with a scared animal. The boy extended a hand toward Blinky's face, and the blue troll growled, making sure to expose his large teeth. "Hiccup, I don't think that's working!" called one of the girls, a blonde with startling blue eyes. Hiccup frowned and kept reaching forward- his fingertips grazed Blinky's face and the blue troll, shocked, slapped the offending hand away and retreated to the farthest point he could, tripping over the ropes and scrambling to his feet again.

"Well, nothing's ever done that before. It's skin is like stone!" Blinky watched from behind the tree as the boy retreated, and he overheard a large blonde boy say, "I wonder what their eggs are like." Blinky couldn't help it; a laugh escaped him. He clapped a hand over his mouth, but it was far too late. The humans gaped at him, looking like stupid apes, and Blinky shrugged: might as well shock them further. "We certainly do not lay eggs."
