Chapter 20:-

Barry's point of view:

''So what's the deal with Caitlin? She seems pretty...bothered,'' I ask.

''She's always like that,'' Iris boldly replies.

''Why?'' I ask both concerned and intrigued.

''She uh...just lost her baby,'' Iris responded.

''Oh...''

''But enough about her. Let's go to bed."

''I think I'll just sleep on the couch tonight."

''Oh. Well, goodnight. Feel free to join me later,'' she says going to her room.

I stay on the couch thinking about Caitlin. There's just something about her that's so...familiar.

Not to mention how beautiful she is.

General point of view:

Barry couldn't sleep so he headed off to S.T.A.R. Labs.

When he got there, he found Caitlin sitting on the med bay...crying.

''Hey,'' he greeted quietly.

''Hi,'' she acknowledged his presence by wiping her tears.

''Are you okay?''

''I'm fine,'' she answers biting her lip.

''Are you sure?''

She shakes her head and he immediately pulls her into a hug.

She tenses but he rubs her back and she relaxes.

They both had no idea how long they stayed like that, but it just felt...right.

She pulls away trying to get up, but he holds her hand. She sits back down and squeezes his hand.

''That's nice,'' he comments pointing to the bracelet.

''Thanks. It's...special.''

''I can tell,'' he remarks and she giggles.

''Where'd you get it?'' 

''My...ex-boyfriend."

''Was the baby his?''

She looks at him weirdly.

''Iris told me.''

''Uh....yeah,'' she confirms starting to tear up.

''Sorry.''

''It's okay Barr.''

''I should get going.''

''Me too,'' she says standing up.

''You want a ride?''

''That'd be nice,'' she smiles.

He speeds her to her apartment.

''How did you remember where I live?''

''I don't know. Everything's just...familiar,'' he shrugs.

''Well thank you, Mr. Allen.''

''You're welcome, Dr. Snow.''

He speeds away and Caitlin sighs.

''I love you,'' she whispers.
