Moving On

Chapter Seven

Corey insisted that I get the latest model of iPhone even thought I just wanted something simple. But he told me that it would be better if I got a phone that had a better software so that he could modify it so that it was safer. In the end I lost the argument and somehow Corey ended up paying for it.

"You too are the cutest couple I've seen." The lady helping told us. Heat rose throughout my body, I went to go correct her that Corey and I were just friends but he beat me to it.

"Thank you." he said with a smile. I looked up at him in confusion but all I got was a grin and a wink. We headed over to Raven, who was browsing at phones near the entrance and when he heard us coming his way his head perked up. The three of us walked to the car and started going back to Sargent Jasper.

"When we get home I'm going to install the family safety program that Victor made onto your phone." I looked at him in surprise. I didn't know that he knew it existed. "Academy caught whiff of what he made and implemented it onto all teams. It's quite ingenious and I'm somewhat disappointed that I didn't think of it first."

At the time that I was introduced to the program, I didn't think much of it. I knew that it kept our family safe and was easy to access but looking back, Victor came up with something incredible. To anyone else the actions of the an Academy team and their precautions may be too much. Academy had a way of making you want to run away with their assertiveness. I felt that way when I first got introduced to the Blackborne team and after a while it just seemed right. Even now I'm still not used to all the attention but I think that soon it'll become like second nature with Axel, Corey and everyone. I'm coming at them with a lot more baggage than a I did with the Blackborne team and they haven't run the opposite direction, but I never thought my first real family would either. But only time will tell. I've only been with them for less than a week and I've already settled into a comfortable routine with them.

Although the thought still lingers in my mind that my step mother might be lurking around the corner to come take me away, I've never felt more safe than I am now. Soon we were pulling up to the apartment and I blinked out of my daze. We made our way up to Corey's apartment since it had the necessary equipment to program my new phone. I didn't think it way anything too difficult but I was proven wrong. While the software was relatively simple. The shock component and fail safes were a whole other story. Corey was a little hesitant to put the shock into my phone but I reassured him that I was put it somewhere that wouldn't hurt me too badly and when it gets closer to my due date that it can be taken out. Although I haven't been apart of the Academy for long I have been trained and was the quickest trainee to ever pass through boot camp.

Phil told me not to worry about missions for now. He didn't want the stress to interfere with the pregnancy, not that I did many in the first place. It's funny how I was "allowed" to go on more missions before I officially join than after I joined. After the baby I might start picking up missions here and there but I don't know what I'm going to do just yet.

"Do you guys have your own icon like the Blackborne team?" I asked waiting for Corey to finish up.

"We do, but I'll have you guess who's is who." he replied handing me my phone after a moment. "Here it is, give it a go."

 I touched the screen to turn it on and on the home screen were the basic phone settings but on the next page were 5 icons. The first one was black with a glowing neon blue fish, the one after that was a mug with steam rising above it. Next was a little gun, following that was a motorcycle and lastly a computer.

"Fitting." I giggled, each app icon truly represented each member. "What's mine on your guy's phone?"

"I was waiting to ask you what you wanted it to be." I thought about it for a second, what represents me? I was lost until the Blackborne team and they helped find me, but now that I'm no longer with them am I still me. Finally I came to my answer.

"How about a pink icon with a white crane. Pink is my favorite color and cranes are supposed to represent hope and prosperity. Plus I am a 'bird'."

"I like it. When everyone gets home I'll get that one their phone. For now let's send everyone a message."

"What should I send?"

"Anything you want Gorgeous." I tried not to blush too hard at the name and added everyone to a group chat. I tried to think of the best thing to say but nothing came to mind. I let out a sigh but then it came to me. I pulled Corey closer to me and raised my phone up so that both of our faces were in frame of the camera. I took a picture of the two of us and sent it out. 

Me: I got a new phone. Curtesy of Corey but he didn't let me pay even though I insisted :( .

A few seconds later replies came rolling in.

Brandon: Good job little bro.

Corey: You're only older than me by a few minutes.

Brandon: Which makes me a few minutes wiser than you.

Axel: I agree with Brandon on buying you a phone Sang. When you're with us you don't need to bother paying for anything. We all have more than enough money.

Marc: Sang! I'm so glad that I have your number now. I just came up with a new coffee blend. You never have to drink that Starbucks crap that I heard Brandon say you like. I swear it'll be the best thing you've ever tasted

Sang: I've never had anything other than Starbucks so I'm not the best person to ask about coffee preferences.

Marc: That's okay. The less you know the more I get to teach you ;)

Raven: Was that suppose to be a sex education?

Brandon: Do you mean sexual innuendo?

Marc: To answer your question, maybe.

Corey: Might want to stop with the comments Sang is getting a little red.

Axel: I have to go anyway but we'll see you tomorrow Sang.

Raven: Da tomorrow.

Marc: When we get back I'll make up a cup of my famous coffee.

Brandon: Heading back now, see you in a bit.

Hey guys! Sorry this took so long and is shorter than usual. I was going to end this in a different spot but this took so long to write and I wanted to get something out for you all to read.

An update on why I've been so MIA and I have mentioned this before. I just finished high school last week and graduated yesterday(from when I post this) and so I've been trying to catch up on my school work I was slacking on. But now that I will be having a lot of free time these next 2 and a half months I'll try and knock out some more chapters. So no I am not losing interest in this story that I tend to do with most things. This is my child and I plan on completing this in one way or another.
