Once upon a time, there was a young, just king, who ruled over a kingdom of eternal light. It was a kingdom where the sun never set, its golden light forever gracing the green hills dotted with delicate flowers in all the colours imaginable, finding its way through the thick foliage of the forests and giving life to the most magical creatures. The kingdom was wealthy and the people living there were happy, for they knew neither darkness nor hunger. They adored music and dance and the tales of their lavish balls travelled far beyond the borders of their little kingdom. However, not all their neighbours felt cordial towards the kingdom of light. Especially the kingdom of eternal night, a kingdom without sunlight, had always been jealous of the little kingdom with its perfect eternal sun. Their dislike for each other was so deeply anchored in the souls of the people, rulers and subjects alike, that nobody could recall a time when it had been different. One day the young king decided that it was time to change the relationship between the two kingdoms and it so happened that the king of night had a beautiful daughter at the right age, so the young king decided to travel to the Moonstone Palace to meet her. On the way, the party decided to take a rest in the monastery of the sun dancers that lay high up in the mountains, close to the border. The sun dancers were priestesses to the sun and the very magical beings responsible for dancing the sun into the sky and keeping her there. They were said to have pure light running through their veins and to carry a fire in their hearts like no other beings. That is where the young king met her. She was a golden haired beauty and upon meeting her, the king knew, without a doubt, that he could never love or marry another woman. He turned around then and there to take his beloved home to the city of Rey and marry her at once. The celebrations lasted for 10 days and the new queen's smile on her wedding day was so bright that she outshined the sun. The couple lived happily for the next ten years and had six daughters. Their love was stronger than any promises the young king had made before meeting his queen, but their marriage was also the beginning of the end, for the king of eternal night did not forget these broken promises.
