Loyal Dog

I picked up the pieces
For your shattered heart.
You turned around and stabbed me
With a bitter start.

I stayed close by, forgiving you,
But wounds like these can't heal
When you were never real.

Your loyal servant, just like a dog,
Would never stray or bite and bark.

And then one day was very cold,
We went to walk, and you let go.
Ran away, left me behind.
And now all that's left is a bone of mine.
