The Lost Battle

Try as I might, the dragon won the fight.
I pushed and pried and pulled,
Tumbled and tore and trecked,
For miles on end I tried,
Before finally I knew it was no use.
For this evil, this being,
Was too powerful for my weak self to fight.
As I begun to fade with fatigue from fright and a lack of fighting strength,
I whispered softly to the wind,
"I tried, but sometimes trying isn't enough."
