His mom was in front of him. Her hair was pulled back into a ponytail and she looked far older than she actually was. Craig ran and hugged her. He had to push down the urge to cry as they embraced.

Craig didn't know how long they were like that. He didn't really care either too be honest.

It wasn't until a small voice came from behind him that they stopped holding each other. "Um, hi, I'm Butters."

They let go of each other and turned around to face Butters. His mom went as far as to walk towards Butters and placed her hand on his shoulder. "And who are you?"

Craig decided to answer for him, "this is Butters, he's been staying here since he doesn't have anywhere else to go."

His mom smiled, "well Butters, what do you want for dinner?"

In less than an hour, the three of them were sitting at the table eating lasagna. There was a light banter between the three of them. They were all consciously trying to avoid any sensitive topics but the entire experience was enjoyable none the less. For a moment, Craig could pretend like they were a normal functioning family and not who they truly were.

Craig was thinking so much he didn't realize that they were trying to talk to him until Butters lightly shook his shoulder. "Craig? Were you listening?"

Craig blinked in confusion, "no, did you say something."

Butters grinned mischievously, "I didn't, but your mom asked you about Tweek."

Craig tried but failed to stop the blush that appeared on his cheeks. "What about Tweek?"

Then the same sly look was on his mom's face as she asked, "just wondering what's been going on between the two of you

Craig had a debate in his head about whether he should tell his mom but in the end, he said, "we're dating."

She smiled, "I always knew the two of you would end up together."

"How did you know?"

"Even back then I could see the way you guys looked at each other."

Craig just shook his head. "I doubt it, I completely forgot that he existed when he moved away."

She lifted her hand to her chest in mock offense, "how dare you treat my son-in-law that way."

They all laughed and that was that for the rest of the day. They cleaned up their plates and got ready for bed.

Craig couldn't help but worry though. The feeling of everything going wrong was still deeply rooted within him. It didn't feel like the ending of a good story and felt a lot more like the eye of the hurricane. What was the worse that could happen though? His mom was home and well, he had an amazing boyfriend, and his friends were as amazing as always.

A lot more than he thought apparently. It was late at night and he was the only one in the house still awake since both his mom and Butters were morning peoples. That's when he got the phone call.
