Chapter 6: Do You Believe in Fate?

Binatukan ako ni Adam, "Mata mo baka malaglag." Masama ang tingin niya sa akin.

"Bro, kasalanan ko ba kung maganda yung kapatid mo? Na-appreciate ko lang naman ang biyaya ng Diyos."

"Tangna pare, konting preno. Kapatid ko yan."

"Oo nga, andun na ko. Hindi ko naman siya babastusin eh. Kilala mo naman ako di ba?" I touched the place where he hit me. 

"Seryoso bro, no monkey business kay Aya, please? Pati ako papatayin nung mga iba naming kapatid pag umiyak yan." 

"Bro, on my honor okay?"

Bumalik na si Aya sa table, "Thank you, ang sarap ng food." She smiled at me and I'm lost. 'Langya, kahit di ako kumain busog na ako agad.

"Next time, try naman natin dun sa Pino. I heard it's one of the top restos here sa QC." I said and she beamed at me. 

"Pinapataba mo naman yata ako eh."

"Hindi ah, sexy ka." Shit, katabi ko nga pala si Adam and I saw him frown at the corner of my eye. Kelan ba ako papayagan nitong ma-solo si Aya? Ang awkward naman.

"May 1PM ako, mauna na ko," Adam declared and got up from the table. Wait? Seryoso, iiwan niya si Aya sa akin?

"Prince, yung sinabi ko ha."

"Sure. No problem, I'll take care of her."

He bent and kissed Aya's cheek, "Bye, baby girl. Pag may ginawang kalokohan si Prince, sumbong mo sa'kin agad, okay?"

"Bye Kuya. Love you!" Shit, nagseselos ako sa sweetness nila.

"Gusto mo na simulan yung report?" I asked her. 

"Okay," she opened her bag and took out her I-pad, my book ang her Macbook Air.

"Dito ka sa tabi ko," I patted the seat that Adam vacated and she quickly stood up and sat beside me. One thing I noticed about her, sobrang natural-looking. No make-up, no perfume, no nothing. Natural beauty ika nga. Sobrang galing naman magpangalan ng mga magulang niya kasi para talaga siyang Diyosa.

She gave me her notes and I did a quick study, pointing out several passages on the book that give proof or explained. She was an eager student and I realized na napakatalino niya. She was prepared to argue her points and didn't back down from the questions I fired at her. Mahiyain siya, introvert, pero definitely hindi tanga. I found myself enjoying debating with her. Hindi siya maangas or screechy like other girls na overpowering ang confidence. 

"Goddess gusto mo ba talaga yung course mo?"

She shook her head, "Wala akong ibang maisip eh". I was surprised. Hindi niya gusto pero pursigido siyang mag-aral at may US standing? 

"Ano bang gusto mo?"

She was quiet for a while and I didn't want to push the topic. 

"Baka tawanan mo ako."

"No, hindi. Swear." I held my hand up and touched my chest.

"Comic book artist."

"Ha?"

"Gusto kong gumawa ng manga." there was a hint of pain on her voice, "Kaya lang hindi ako nakapasa sa FA."

I felt her pain like a shroud, "Gusto mo turuan kita?"

She looked up at me,"Totoo?"

I nodded, "Sure. Galing akong FA." I was surprised when she hugged me.

"Thank you!" she beamed at me.

"My pleasure." Bigla niyang na-realize na nakayakap siya sa akin at biglang bumitaw.. "Sorry Prince".

"Ano ka ba, okay lang yun. Kahit kelan mo ko i-hug, okay lang. I'm all yours."

"Walang magagalit?" her eyes were downcast and I saw her blushing. Ang cute niya talaga.

"Wala. Halika hug mo na ulit ako." I pulled her close and enfolded  her in a bear hug.

"Hala, teka... Prince..." she was panicking and I found her endearing. 

"Ang cute mo talaga Goddess." I tapped the end of her nose, "Ang cute-cute mo."

"Parang puppy?"

"Hindi, parang baby. Baby na kita ha?" I joked. Bigla siyang sumimangot, "Ano ba yan, ikaw din? Hala lahat na kayo ganyan gusto itawag sa akin."

"Sino?"

"Lahat ng Kuya ko. Seven sila tapos lahat sila tawag sa akin Diosa o kaya baby. Forever na lang yata akong baby." she was pouting ang all I wanted was to kiss her rose-colored lips.

"Hindi mo naman ako Kuya. Ayokong maging Kuya mo." I murmured and she looked wide-eyed at me, "Boyfriend na lang."

"Hala Prince..." she squirmed from my hug and I reluctantly let her go.

"May boyfriend ka na ba?" Alam kong wala from Adam pero I have to make sure.

She shook her head and I felt at ease. "So if manligaw ako sa'yo, may chance ako?"

I saw her swallow hard and blush. I took her hand and squeezed it.

"I hope you'll give me a chance, Aya. I believe fate brought you to me." She lifted her gaze and my heart stopped just looking at those eyes.

"Sa dinami-dami ng libro sa library, you had to choose the one that brought me to you."
