David Leigh Abts must be a real darling. Any writer who can transport the reader (me) with such effortless charm belongs in that special milieu with Keillor and Vonnegut. WAIT. Not the one filled w/ American legends who have invented genres and made great leaps forward in devel- oping the American vernacular but rather the one filled with American writers whom you want to hug and invite home for supper.
