"We're here!"

Dave sounded completely calm as we pulled into the driveway.

"What the fuck, it's basically a mansion," I squeaked as my mouth fell open in awe. "Why didn't you tell me?"

"I didn't want you to get too excited..."

"It's so beautiful," I breathed as I admired the lush ivy that crept up a stone wall and the fresh peonies that lined the walkway. "I can't wait to meet your friend!"

"He can't wait to meet you, either. You guys will get along well."

He knocked on the large front door. I held my breath as the knob turned.

"Heyyyy, Dave! How are ya?!"
