Chapter 19: Is this Necessary?

Life is good.

I mean, after the information that we got about Draco, life for me became easier. No more egotistical-garbage dirtballs try to prank or perhaps tease me at school. Not that we confronted him or anything, though, what’s with the sudden change?

I was walking down the hallway (yes, I’m at school) and I was thinking. Thinking so hard.

Maybe he is related to the incident! That’s why!

“What’s with the look?”

A voice behind me said.

I turned around and found myself face to face with Anastasia. Saying face to face is an understatement, we were only inches away from kissing, and that idea nauseated me for some reason.

Gosh! What the hell?

“What were you thinking?” I exclaimed.

She merely shrugged then put on this serious expression.

“Jace, can I ask you something?”

I rolled my eyes and motioned her to continue.

“Well…”

I ran my fingers through my hair a bit agitated.

“Anastasia, I don’t have time for this..My next class is in a few minutes,” I explained.

“Just hear me out for a second!” She pleaded.

I held up my hands.

“I’m all ears,”

Anastasia began rocking herself back and forth obviously embarrassed to what she was about to say.

“Well, I’ve been having this feeling for quite some time already,”

I gulped.

What feeling?

“Ug-h what type of feeling?” I asked uncertainly.

Anastasia looked at me straight into my eyes.

“I think I’m in love with you,”

I felt like I was slapped.

What the eff?

My face became somewhat contorted and was stricken with anger as well horror.

Is this a nightmare or what? Lord please wake me up!

Until such time Anastasia began laughing.

“I’m just joking dummy!”

I felt a pang of relief seep in through my body.

Thank you Lord!

“It was not a good joke!” I scolded.

I got laughter as reply.

Somewhat disgusted I turned around and headed for class.

“Jace wait!” Anastasia’s voice behind me called out.

Since I was such a bad boy, I didn’t bother looking back.

When out of nowhere a hand grabbed my arm, making me stand still.

I looked back and saw Anastasia gripping my arm. Hard.

“What!?” I asked annoyed.

She exhaled.

“You haven’t heard my request yet,” She panted.

I freed my arm from her steady grip.

“If this is one of your not-so-funny jokes then beware, after this I may not call you my friend anymore,” I icily said.
