Mal's POV:

We practice for the game against Denmark. It feels great to be back with the team.

"Kelley whatever you said to Y/N really changed her. She's been somewhat happier." Alex said.

I smiled. "Yeah O'Hara. What'd you say to my girlfriend."

"That's between me, and her." Kelley laughed.

I looked over at Y/N. She was talking to Dawn.

"Hey." Sonnett kicked a ball at me. "Focus. Enough of that."

"You're just jealous I found someone and you're still single."

She looked down. "You really had to hurt me like that." She put her hand on her chest. "That hurt me. Right here." She pointed to her heart. "You little shit."

Your POV:

"It's nice to see Mal back on the field." I said watching the team.

"Yeah, it is." Dawn nodded. "It's gonna be a big year for her."

"I hope so. She deserves all the success."

"What about you?"

"I'm turning 21. I'll be starting my last year of college. Who knows." I said.

"Don't grow up too fast." She said. "I know you're already grown up, but you're still very young. Enjoy this year."

"I will." I smiled.

"Alright, ladies! Wrap it up!" Dawn clapped.

I stood up. "Y/N!" Julie jogged over. "Some of us are going for a walk around. Wanna come?"

"Uh." I saw Mal talking with Rose. "Yeah sure. Why not."

"Awesome!" She jogged off.

Back at the hotel, I laid on the bed. "What are you doing?" Mal asked.

"Thinking."

"About what?"

"Too much."

She laughed. "Can I guess one of the things?" I nodded. "School?"

"Yeah."

"Is another thing me?" She smiled.

"No." I smirked. "I'm kidding."

She sat next to me.

"What's on your mind."

"What happens next." I said. "I go to back to UCLA, you go to Washington, who knows what happens after I graduate."

"You'll figure it out."

"I know I will. But we'll probably be apart. I love you, but I don't know if I can handle the distance. It's not you're a few miles away. You're on the other side of the country."

"We will make it work."

"How?"

"Because love will always win."
