"Mirrors....Mirrors.....I hate mirrors." The boy muttered as he fiddled with his thumbs.

"Why do you hate mirrors?"

"....They hurt me."

The detective dug his hand in his coat pocket and brought out a small mirror decorated in tiny jewels and silver pieces. "Does this scare you?"

The boy froze, eyes glued to the object that reflected his horrified expression.

"Does this scare you?" The man repeated firmly.

The boy whipped his head around and violently shook his head back and forth, murmuring incoherent words to himself. He jolted when the impatient detective got out of his seat and shoved the mirror closer to his face.

"Answer me, boy - "

The small boy screamed and rapidly tore the mirror out of his grasp, hurling it at the camera on the wall that broke from the impact. The mirror fell to the floor and shattered into a million pieces.

"NO! I HATE THEM!!! I HATE MIRRORS!!! DON'T COME NEAR ME!!!!" He wailed and curled up into a tiny, heaving ball on the floor.

The detective sighed and rubbed his forehead with two fingers, watching the sobbing child helplessly.

"I'm sorry kid...but I have no choice."
