My Beast.

Chapter Two

I woke with sunlight grazing my face, I forgot to drap the curtains. Again.
My feet touched the soft carpet on the floor, my eyes adjusting to the bright sunlight and went to close the curtains, but my eyes caught a black car parked on the side of street close to my apartment. I have seen this car before, but where? My mind tried to collect the knowledge but I didn't get anything.
There's only one way to find out, so that's what I did and went out to look for the number plate or anything else which could remind me, but just as I open my front door and step outside the engine started and car flew by with speed.

"That's..strange." I whisper, as I looked around but it was still a little early for people to come out.
I went inside again, locking my door and then went to bed again not wanting to ruin my day off.

It was around eleven when my phone rang, I groaned not wanting to move from my peaceful heaven, but as it started to rang for the second time I moved and squinted on the screen, it was Melissa.

"Why weren't you picking up? I was worried." her smooth voice came with so much energy, why she always is so energetic? Before I could answer she started again "come on sleepy head get up we have to go somewhere."she said with so much excitement

"Where?" I asked, still not interested in getting up from my comfortable bed.

"First supermarket for groceries, and second I have made some plans for night." she said and I already know what's coming next from me and also from her, I open my mouth to say no but she beat me to it. "and don't even think about saying no, you are coming."

"Ok I'll come to supermarket, but for night plans I don't think I'll be able to do that I have some errands to run." I lied already praying to god she would buy it.

"NOO way, come on darling let's go out for once please. I promise you'll love it. PLEASE"

"Melissa I don't know, I can't do it tonight. Let's do this some other time please." I tried again.

"Please scar you can't do this to me, please come with me. We'll have so much fun." she said with her baby voice and started her emotional drama.

"Fine we'll see what to do about that, but for now come over. I'll meet you outside in twenty minutes."

"Alright, I'll be there."

I went to bathroom for my morning chores and had a good hot shower and slip in black skinny jeans and white loose tank top, which felt really nice with the sun so bright today.

I heard few rapid knocks on my door and Melissa screaming for me to open the door. I rolled my eyes at her childish behavior but quickly grab my purse, put on my shoes and keys.

"Let's go, I am ready." I said to Melissa but she didn't move "what happened let's go. "

"Look at you. " She said widening her eyes.

"What happened to me? I am okay. Let's go."

"No, look at you. You are looking so good." she said clapping her hands together and I rolled my eyes at her silly thoughts.

"Thank you. Now let's go." I went to her car and clipped my seatbealt as she came in still starring at me with her wide eyes. But soon started her car and moved out of the street towards the supermarket. We talked about everything and anything as she drove. As she  went to park first, I got out of the car.
We went inside and started to get things she wanted from aisles.

"Excuse me." A voice called out from behind me and I turned to see who it was and it's the same man who came to library yesterday and asked me for book.

"Oh hi." I said smiling and he just gave me a..nod? Really who nods on a hi?

"So some groceries shopping." he said looking at my cart.

"Yeah." I said and starts walking and he starts walking besides me.

"I am Daniel." he said taking his hand out for a formal handshake.

"Oh I am Scarlett." I said shaking his hand formally.

I put Nutella to my basket and turned to ask him how he is liking the book, but he was long gone.

"You are done." Melissa asked jumping in front of me from god knows where.

"Yeah, lets go."
We went to billing counter and paid for our stuffs and after that we went into parking but again Melissa bump into someone's back as her eyes were glued to her phone.

"Ouch." she exclaimed and rubbed her nose. "I am so sorry." Mel said rubbing her nose and looked up to the man she has ran into. And to our surprise it was none other than Daniel.

"I am sorry too, you okay?" Daniel ask her with a hint in his eyes of concern but when he caught me looking at him he suddenly changed his facial expressions to blank again.

"It's fine, I am ok. You are here as well." she stated and not asked.

"Yes I'm shifting here with my family." he said.

Melissa eyed him and was about to say something when she notice me staring at both of them. They know each other?

"I have to go see you later girls." Daniel said and went to his car, which was a black sleek SUV which look so expensive.

"Let's go." Melissa said to me as I was busy still looking at the car which was speeding out of the parking lot.

"Yeah...let's go"

And we went to her car and Melissa drove to my home. It was already 5 in evening and Melissa said we are going to club and after a lot of our fight I have to agree.
She already had her dress in her car so we directly went to my apartment to get ready because I don't want to be at club late we will go at 7 and be right back at 9 and she agreed with me.
