Y/N shook her head. "As long as you came back, I'm fine."
"Okay. Secondly, I kind of made up with Martha as long as I promised that the four of us would get to watch a movie before I turn eighteen. Oh, and I might bring a new friend along." Veronica cringed, waiting for her friend's response.
Instead, she shrugged. "I can't wait to meet her."
Veronica grinned, then lowered her voice. "Lastly, this whole thing about Zoey and the Murpheys being the reason for Connor dying? Yeah, I call bull on that shit."
Even with the circumstances, Y/N giggled. "Same, does Martha know?"
Veronica nodded. "I called her after it was posted, and then that's how we talked to each other for three hours, and made up after that. Hey, how did you get that cut of yours?" She reached her hand onto the girl's head.
Y/N swallowed, but didn't lie. "I-I'll tell you at lunch."
"Long story?"
"Bingo,"
The whole room fell silent as everyone glared at the door; Zoey walked into the room, avoiding eye contact with every single person. She made her way to her regular spot, and opened her guitar. She looked over to Y/N.
"Hey N/N, give me a C." She commanded politely, acting like it was just another day. Y/N nodded, and placed her finger on the key.
"Do you think she was a jerk to her brother on purpose?" A freshman whispered to an older girl next to him.
"Of course she was, I take Geometry with her. You don't even know how many times she's probably been 'doing favors' for the teacher to pass that class." She sneered in Zoey's direction.
Glaring, Y/N noticed the girl's phone only a few inches away from her foot. When she wasn't looking, Y/N moved her foot to the phone, and dragged it under the piano. Picking it up, she hid it in her pocket, quietly rushed out the band doors, then the parking lot doors, and placed it on top of Heather Chandler's porsche.
She thankfully made it back just in time as the bell rang, and Mr. Hill entered in after her. Instead of the expected grand entrance, he simply walked through the door in silence, and went to his music stand. The room quieted down, as he looked up.
"I would want all of you to know, that what I am about to say won't single anyone out, but it should be basic knowledge for all of you; especially the juniors and seniors. Now I know for a fact, that each of you must have been called a name at least once in your life. Either in front of you, or when you had no idea. I understand there has been some comments made to each of us this year, some more than others, but I would just like to say: Stop."
The room was filled with silence; not even more of the whispers about Zoey Murphy were made.
The professor coughed. "Anyway, 'Whiplash' let's start from the beginning."
...
For the first time in months, all four friends sat at the table together. It even shocked Y/N that Evan was nowhere to be seen. She even looked at the table she and him would sit at together; he wasn't there either.
Besides telling Martha and Veronica how Y/N had gotten the cut on her head, and why she stayed with Zoey the night before, everything went normally. Until, a certain Heather sauntered her way to the table.
"Hey," Heather McNamara whispered almost shyly.
They all looked up; Zoey and Y/N with surprised faces, and Veronica nd Martha smiling. The two girls quickly looked over to see their friends' shocked faces.
