WARNING: Okay, I'm kind of paranoid of what I wrote in the beginning of this chapter where Y/N is basically talking to herself. Now, I don't know for sure, but most of it deals with self-hate, so if it triggers you, just feel free to skip the italicized words that do not have to do with the lyrics.

Alana was right; after a week of school (hell), and the four friends meeting up and planning upon planning what exactly to do for "The Connor Project", all of them were sleep deprived. Y/N was even scared, feeling as if her old friends would feel as if she was neglecting them.

Thankfully, Veronica was too busy with her own drama with the Heathers and J.D., and Martha was the most understanding person in the world. Zoey was another case. Even after Y/N told her that what they were doing was true (lies) Zoey still couldn't help but feel slightly paranoid.

It was early Friday morning, and the team was assigned to their own duties. Jared was busy getting the projector to work, and Alana drowned herself in too many things to help work on.

Y/N and Evan, on the other hand, were still in the school. The assembly would begin at 9:00, and Evan begged her a million times to help with practice his speech; even though they only had two more hours left.

"This-this was a stupid idea." He rushed, flipping through the notecards.

Y/N shook her head. "No it was not. I don't know how many kids would be doing things like this for someone who-." She paused. "Did something like that."

He sighed. "I-I guess so. But-but I-I know they-they-they'll laugh!  They-they'll hate me, they-they'll t-talk about me! A-and, and then-!" He went on like that for another few seconds, before he felt two comforting hands on his shoulders.

"Hey," Y/N whispered to him. "just listen to me for a second, okay?"

He hesitantly looked at her, and nodded.

She smiled. "Alright, take a deep breath, a real one." He did, and she continued. "Hold it for a few seconds, then let it out gently."

He followed her exact instructions a few more times, until he could talk normally again. "Thank-thank you." He said, not looking at her in somewhat shame.

There was nothing else that Y/N wanted to do but cup Evan's cheeks and gently kiss him; but she didn't. "There's no way he'd love someone like you,"

Instead, she smiled at him. "No problem." A lightbulb went off in her head. "Hey, I think I have the answer for you." He finally looked up at her in curiosity.

"Okay," she began. "When you're out on stage, I'm going to be right there with you the whole time. Find me in the front row near the stairs, and just look at me the entire time; act like you're talking to me and only me. It'll be like our secret, in a way." She finished, grinning.

Her smile was contagious to him, and his lips slightly perked up. "O-Okay,"

The two teenagers just smiled at each other, until they realized they were staring for longer than they should have. They instantly pulled away, and avoided eye contact for a few seconds.

"O-oh, I-I think I should be getting ready." Evan stammered, and went to his backpack.

"Getting ready how?" She asked, standing up from her seat. He unzipped his backpack, and pulled out a tie. Y/N couldn't help but slightly chuckle.

His head instantly snapped up at her giggle. "Wha-what's so funny? Is-is it that bad?"

She shook her head. "No, no. I just never thought you would be the type of person to wear a tie of all things."
