"Meet up in the senior parking lot, he said. We'll go together into town and hand out postcards for the fundraiser, he said!" Alana cheered in the most obvious fake voice.
Y/N shook her head. "Okay, how long has it been?"
"Approximately twenty minutes and thirty-two seconds." She checked her watch. "Oh look at that, thirty-three, thirty-four, thirty-five, so on and so on."
"Okay, how about you try calling him again?" Y/N sighed.
Alana shook her head. "Nope, it's your turn this time."
"Fine," She took her phone out of her pocket, and dialed Evan's number. "Please pick up, please pick up, please pick up..."
"Hey, this Evan Hansen, I am extremely sorry that I can't talk to you right now; but please leave a message after the tone, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible!"
Y/N slightly groaned, and pocketed her phone. "Still not answering?" Alana asked.
She nodded. "What should we do now?"
"We go downtown and pass out postcards as usual. If Evan decides to show up, then he should know where to find us." Alana tried not to hiss, as she walked to her car, Y/N following.
"What will he do then when we're not here? He doesn't have a car and-."
"I'm sure he can get his girlfriend to give him a ride or two." The girl said without looking at her friend.
Y/N was taken aback by Alana's tone of voice, but she nodded and walked to the other side of the car. "Let's go then."
The two girls sat in the car, both not saying anything to each other, and keeping their eyes on the road. Alana's eyes lost the harshness that was there a few minutes ago, and Y/N just stared solely out the window.
"This is actually kind of nice." Alana grinned to Y/N.
"Huh?"
"I mean, it's always just guys around us. It's nice to have girl to girl talk from time to time, right?"
"I gue-."
"Right." Alana interrupted, but Y/N couldn't help smile. "Do you have a boyfriend?"
Y/N snapped her head to Alana. "Uh, yes!"
Alana pursed her lips. "Really, who?"
"Max Anderson,"
"Is that the Max Anderson who was leader of the Robotics club for two years, and graduated in 2008?" Alana spoke, not looking at a shocked Y/N. "And if I'm correct, we would have been about eight or nine when that would have happened."
Y/N sighed. "Okay, you got me."
"Why though? Why did you lie?"
"I-I don't know." Y/N stared at the seats, and the car ride passed in silence.
Until-. "Do you still like Evan?"
"What the-? Who said I ever like him?" She spoke rapidly.
"Y/N I could be blind, and I still would have known that you liked him before, and that you still like him now."
She sighed. "I don't like him. Okay, I might have like him at the beginning of the year; but he's with Zoey now, she's one of my best friends, and I couldn't do anyhting like that to her."
"So you're saying you still like him?"
"No Alana, no I don't." Y/N said. Again, silence passed through the car, but Y/N broke the silence. "Do you like Jared?"
