Right after the final bell rang, the four friends (Jared, Alana, Evan, and Y/N) ran out of their classes, and to the front of the school.
"Well," Jared clapped his hands together, "I think I'll drive Alana, and Florence, you can drive Evan to the Murphy's house." Alana opened her mouth to ask, but he was one step ahead of her. "We'll get there faster, and I wouldn't want to make the child bawl his eyes out in my car."
"I-I wouldn't." Evan stammered.
Jared cocked an eyebrow at him. "Oh, do you want to trade places?"
"I'm good!" He said in an instant, moving a little closer to Y/N. The other boy laughed, and him and Alana walked ahead of the other two to the parking lot.
Y/N giggled, and turned to Evan. "I take it he's not a good driver?"
Evan chuckled, and shook his head. "No-No, he-he almost got me and him in-in an accident jun-junior year."
She laughed again, causing Evan's smile to grow brighter. "Well then, please tell me if I'm scaring you." She said, and they began walking together.
He shook his head. "I-I don't think you ever could."
"Go ask Millie about it, and she can go on for hours." She said, trying to stop herself from turning red. The two friends chuckled again, and finally made it to Y/N's car, got in, and drove to the Murphy's house.
If only they knew what the other two said as they were following them to the house.
"A week at the least, if Y/N tells him." Jared snickered, nearly tailgating Y/N's car.
Alana shook her head. "No, I think it'll be tomorrow."
"Y/N or Evan telling?"
"It doesn't matter."
"Oh yes it does!" He grinned. "Evan's scared shitless of his own shadow, and Y/N's scared shitless of Evan."
"I've know her longer,"
"And I've know him longer."
After another fifteen minutes, of Jared and Alana arguing and Evan and Y/N mimicking every voice on the radio, the four finally arrived at the Murphy's house. They got out of their cars, and walked up to the front door; Y/N knocking.
In a minute, the door opened, revealing Cynthia. "Oh, hello Y/N! I see you also brought Evan and-." She stopped looking over Alana and Jared. "Who are your other friends?"
"Alana Beck ma'am," Alana stepped forward, and shook Cynthia's hand. "and this is one of my coworkers, Jared-."
"Kleinman," He smirked.
Alana nodded. "Anyways, we were wondering if we could talk to you about a proposal?"
"A proposal?"
Evan spoke up. "It's-it's nothing really, jus-just a small thing we could do for-for Connor."
Her face slightly lit up. "For Connor? Please, come in, come in!" She opened the door wider, and the four teens walked into the house. Cynthia closed the door once they were all inside, and walked over to the stairs.
"Larry! Zoey! Can you come downstairs please?" She shouted up the stairway, then looked back at them, and smiled. "Sorry, there's just never away to get them all down here at the same time. I think we should probably buy an intercom or something before I get laryngitis! Don't you think?"
Jared, Y/N, and Evan chuckled nervously on impulse, but Alana just smiled brightly, most likely enjoying the joke. All heads turned to the stairs when Zoey and Larry came down, both of their eyes immediately going to Evan, who tensed under their gaze as they walked to sit down.
