Bursting through the door I collapsed.
I couldn't believe it happened so fast.
The sight before me, this couldn't be fate.
I was supposed to save her, but was minutes too late.
She called me saying she wasn't okay.
Knowing my friend, there was nothing more to say.
She was crying, barely able to speak. I promised I would be there soon.
She wasn't weak, she'd just been staring at the moon.
I rushed to her side, hoping she was still alive.
I couldn't lose my best friend, it's not her time.
As I feared, she'd lost a lot of blood.
And now life stands where death once stood.
