Chapter 62: Unexpected Guests

"Sleeping is usually a one man thing," Y/n told

"Ah! But I have learned means of aiding sleep!" Peridot informed, "As learned on your human platform called 'Tubetube'" Peridot told

"What, you watched some meditation videos or something?" Y/n asked

"Better! I have learned the methods of the Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response!" Peridot cheered

"What in the name of all that is holy is that?" Y/n frowned

"It is a human way of easing the mind and relaxing the body," Peridot informed, "Often referred to as ASMR,"

"Well... That's very interesting, Peri..." Y/n said as they climbed into bed

"I see you're not convinced," Peridot squinted, "Allow me to demonstrate,"

"Demonstrate?" Y/n frowned as Peridot jumped onto Y/n's bed and climbed up and kneeled on Y/n's chest, looming over their head, "Peri, what're you doing?"

"Shh," Peridot pressed her finger against Y/n's lips and began to whisper, "You have to remain silent or whisper,"

"But why though," Y/n whispered

"So that your ASMR is triggered," Peridot told

"I don't think I want that to be triggered," Y/n said

"Yes you do," Peridot said as she moved her hands to Y/n's ears and began rubbing her fingers together, "Are you feeling the tingles?"

"Ok, I'm awake now," Y/n groaned as they lifted Peridot up and sat up as well, "What do you two want to do?"

"What do you usually do now?" Lapis Lazuli asked

"Sleep!" Y/n repeated

"Besides sleep," Peridot groaned

"Besides sle-? Sleeping is a binary thing, I am either sleeping or I'm not sleeping, there is no in between," Y/n laughed

"Pretend that you didn't have to sleep," Lapis Lazuli suggested, "What would you do?"

"Pretend like I don't have any responsibilities and that nothing outside this room exists," Y/n said

"What does that entail?" Peridot asked

"Well, I close the blinds," Y/n said as they went to the window and pulled down the curtains, "I turn on the TV," Y/n pressed a button on the top of the TV, causing it to spring to life as it played a late night movie

"This man looks like Steven's father," Peridot said as she peered at the TV screen, "But with shorter hair..."

"Hmm?" Y/n frowned as they turned to look at the TV, "...Do not tell Greg you said that," Y/n said as they watched a fat mall cop ride around on a Segway with an ice cream cone in hand while he shouted at three kids running away from him. Y/n grabbed the TV remote and opened up the guide, "Here, choose something you like," Y/n said as they stuck out the remote for one of them to grab

"Is there Camp Pining Hearts?" Lapis Lazuli asked as she swiped the remote before Peridot could jump and grab it

"Probably not on this late at night," Y/n told as they took their comforter off their bed and laid a bunch of pillows against the wall to provide as a cusion

"The booby-guard?" Lapis Lazuli frowned as she read the title

"What?" Y/n turned around to face the TV, "No, bad! Something else!"

"Why? What's wrong with booby-guard?" Peridot frowned, "What is a booby and why does it need a guard?"

"My brain is gonna freaking explode," Y/n grumbled as they grabbed the remote from Lapis Lazuli and began looking through the channels, "Look, Love in Empire City! You'll like this," Y/n said, "It's like Camp Pining Hearts, but in Empire City,"
